Oh yeah it wont be easy but we can always try
It would take us to 64 points. Brighton can only get to 70 now, Liverpool and Spurs 71 if they win all the remaining games and except Liverpool I dont see the other 2 capable of doing that
Brighton could get to 76 points

This is desperate. He has to go in the summer.
Country mile offside though, so it wouldn't have counted

If Southampton do go down I wouldn’t mind us having a look at Alcaraz. Looks like a very good player, as does Lavia.
Lavia is on loan from Man City and they are definitely not selling him any time soon

I don't like it how we responded to Emi being taken off and Olsen in. Players just gave up. The awakening at the end was good though.
Moreno was shite today, plain and simple. Digne however quite good.
Moreno made one brilliant tackle to save a certain goal- you may have overlooked that

Look I watched the game, seen the highlights about 5 times and downloaded all the content and podcasts I could find and am all aboard the "getting carried away" train. But it can't last can it?
It certainly can. We have to believe that we are now a very good team. The players clearly do!!

I'm pretty confident that we'll drop points here. It's the villariest thing we can do, perhaps followed by losing to Fulham.
What's the matter with you? Gerrards gone now you know!!

What happens if West Ham win the Conference League? Is one of the European spots taken?
Yes I believe that is the case!

Brentford have only lost twice at home all season. It'll be a tough game
Newcastle had only lost 3 games all season and we murdered them!!

Until they play the very best and keep them at bay you cannot say this yet . My view is as a partnership they are top 8 quality and can they get even better . Ty and Ez say they are learning every day so you cannot rule it out
You can only play what is in front of you but,for all their problems , when was the last time we kept a clean sheet at Chelsea? They are a very good pairing who are getting better and better under Unai

The players.
Konsa/Mings is not a top 4 standard partnership.
Absolutely can't agree with this! Is there a better CH pairing in the Prem on current form?

I can't recall Chelsea creating even 5 decent chances v us. They had a couple first half and the Chilwell disallowed goal but basically gave us as soon as McGinn scored his rocket and that was early second half.
You're right, 5-2? What a joke, They hardly troubled Emi and he seems to forget McGinn rattled the bar too. I was never remotely worried once it was 2-0.

Teams we’ve beat recently are all below us
Actually Chelsea were above us on goal difference when we played then

Brilliant from the women. When’s the draw for the next round? It would be unbelievable if they could win the trophy.

Why are some posters fawning over some West Ham players whom we won’t be signing - nor should we ever entertain signing ?
Nobody is fawning over them, I wouldn't want any of them. Just saying Bowen is better than Benrahma (in a low class competition)

Well you're right there. Bowen is a much better player than Benrahma

Pretty standard defeat this. Hoping no more than 3/4-0 but wouldnt surprise me if we saw 5/6/7/8-0.
Mings injured. Still think it was a great transfer window, those that said it was?
We were never going to sign a Centre Half anyway so it makes no difference regarding the transfer window

It’s not the right question because you are assuming we can get first choice in the summer which is no guarantee. You’re also assuming we have or haven’t pushed the extra mile for first choice now. You’re also assuming we have a first choice and not a choice of two or three we are in the bracket of first choice.
If I said to you we can’t get first choice in the summer either would you settle for second choice now?
You would probably be like me, trying to weigh up all the factors like, is he better than what we have? Can we get on a short term deal or even a loan? What fee and wages? So I think you question is wrong because that isn’t the choice we have and we don’t have all the details.
It could well be the case that we have agreements in place to sign players in the summer that clubs simply would not release in January. We just don't know

Why don’t villa not come out and say no more incoming this window. Would stop people being tortured with that small fraction of hope.
I'm guessing they are not finished yet. Aouar??

I’m incredibly upbeat about the Villa.
I love the owners, I’m a massive fan of Emery and I love what the club are doing with the youth and stadium.
I think there needs surgery on this squad though and while we’ve got some of the fringe out which is good, for me this was an opportunity on upside with this squad, to give Emery some additional tools to keep the upbeat run going, we can continue without that but he could’ve done, as he said, with some additional players.
I also don’t think it will be any easier to get players in the summer, it may even be harder with the players and positions we’ll be looking at and other clubs interested.
So I’m massively upbeat with the Villa generally, I just have decades of association with this club when they continually fail to take opportunities.
Overall, outside of this transfer window, I’m incredibly upbeat about Villa.
I'm glad to hear it, we all should be upbeat about our club at the moment. I know you wanted more signings,we all did, but as I've already posted, and I'm sure you can see it, if the players Unai wanted are simply not available for whatever reason it's best to wait until they are instead of signing 3rd or 4th choices just to keep the fanbase happy. Emery knows who he wants to build his team and we should be patient with him

I always take January more as a case of players outright aren't available let alone cost more, more reluctance to sell, if we want the Brazilian guy from betis they've now got 6 months to scout a replacement so their willingness to sell could increase
And personally I've not seen anyone do much of anything this window, not much out there that's given me green eyes, even Newcastle £45m for Gordon would any of us take that and be happy just cos we spent some money? I wouldn't, Brentford and Brighton bought players that seemingly won't immediately start for them and almost definitley not for us
A very sensible and well thought out post. There hasn't been one player within our budget that have gone elsewhere that I would have really wanted. I'm afraid there are guys on here that want everything now no matter what the cost. Well fortunately our people do not subscribe to that view which is why we will end up a very successful club

What seems to be a bit overlooked regarding Emi Buendia is the tremendous amount of defensive work he gets through. He wins the ball back so much.
As has been said he tries so many crucial through balls that some do not succeed, but we shouldn't critisize him for that
