You can talk about him lacking confidence all you like if it makes you feel better, but he’s garbage. I couldn’t care less who Uniteds/Arsenals second choice keepers are, ours is rubbish and he’ll cost us again this season.
Still hoping we can move him on and bring in somebody semi competent.
Another totally ridiculous post I'm afraid. The guy has done nothing wrong this season and until he actually does "cost" us something we should stop suggesting he will
He's a Villa player and we should stop barracking him. He's a national teams keeper. Perhaps their supporters actually support him!!!

Hasn’t he conceded 15 odd goals in about 5 games worth of minutes ?
Didn't Martinez concede 11 goals in 3 consecutive games last season? Statistics like that mean very little

Game time is everything for a footballer and when you are brought in just for the odd game it will always be very difficult, especially for a specialized position like a goalkeeper
It's even harder when the fanbase jumps on every indiscretion. How about we get behind Olsen and actually help and support one of OUR players. Unai supports him So should we

Emery said he wants a squad of 25 with 2 players for every position and some young players who can help us also. He also said Chambers will be used more as RB and CDM than CB this season.
So we've got and some players can play multiple positions too
LB - Moreno / Digne
CB - Pau / Mings
CB - Konsa / Carlos
RB - Cash / Chambers
RM - Ramsey / Coutinho
CM - Kamara / Dendonker
CM - Luiz / Tielemans
LM - Diaby / Bailey
AMC - McGinn / Buendia
Striker - Watkins /
Then young players I think will stay around this season are Sinisalo, Philogene, Archer & Duran.
Players who will leave but are in senior squad. Hause, Davis and Traore.
So if we sign a Striker we won't be keeping 4 around so one of Archer / Duran would go on Loan
If we sign a RB Chambers would leave, CM then Dendonker would leave. If we signed someone like Johnson or Torres there would be options, like a Striker going on Loan or one of Bailey/Coutinho leaving.
If Watkins or Martinez get injured we're in a lot of trouble this season.
Sinisalo has signed for Exeter on a season long loan

Spending money ≠ success.
That's my general point. We need a quality bench, I agree with you there.
I don't think we need to be thinking as a club we "should" be buying £50m players if they aren't good enough to start for us.
We have a lot of players who we wouldn't sell for £50m. It's just a figure. My point is that we will need that type of quality on the bench. Emery will rotate to suit the opposition
so £50m players WILL be on the bench and that is good

No we don't at all. That's nothing like the answer. That's a bad way to think IMO.
Cost of player does not relate to the quality of the player at all.
We are talking about Johnson and he is exactly the calibre of player we need on the bench. It's absolutely the answer. We have to have a quality squad
I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to say here.

We aren't in a position where we can have £50m players sat on the bench.
That's exactly the position we need to be to break into the top 4

I see the "Express & Star" have a report today on Louie 4 years on from his move from WBA to Barcelona (Link below, but I think you have to register with them (which is free) to read it). Nothing we don't already know about the player Klopp named "Little Jamie Vardy" really but what really got me, was the attitude of those sad Baggies fans (particularly the first of the two below). I really hope Louie can stuff those words down their throats yet.
"Glad it's not worked out for Barry sorry to go on about a kid but he showed the Albion total disrespect but I bet his mom and dad's got a nice house." - Stathamm.
"It worked out well in the end for WBA. Obviously not up to the hype, and other academy players have emerged who bring far more to the club. From Barca to Salford is quite a journey." - Jordao2.
What a ridiculous comment. Louie's Dad is a successful Businessman. Tell me how any teenager given an opportunity at La Masia could turn it down. West Brom (eventually) were paid for
coaching him. The Barrys did nothing wrong. Barcelona also made a wedge of money when we bought him.

Judging by how quickly the majority of our Spanish speaking players have learnt the language I think he’ll get there quickly, but If he were if 4 of the back 5 were Martienz, Carlos, Pau, Moreno or Dinge they could speak Spanish all game and not have issues, Luiz in front also speaks Spanish and Tielemans has a basic grasp of the language.
Digne is French of course and Luiz speaks Portuguese, but I get what you mean

it's the exact same mistake that comes from playing the ball out from the back. It will happen again this year, but the benefits to playing out from the back outweigh the negative of this mistake
What the goalkeeper should never be doing is playing the ball out to a player on the edge of his own area facing his own goal, not knowing who is behind them

There are wide players with impressive goal scoring records too.
Diaby for instance

If within reason, I could get a striker, it would be Evan Ferguson.....as young as he is.
That would be a very good call but highly unlikely Brighton would agree to it. They hardly need the money!!

There's no chance that Inter would embarrass themselves with that type of bid. It's clearly just made up!

If were not bringing in another striker better pray that Watkins doesnt pick up any long term injuries.
What we going to do rely on Archer/Duran?
I don't think you can plan for a season thinking someone will get injured. I am convinced Archer is good enough to get game time this season and may well end up pushing Watkins for
a starting spot at some point. Also Emery seems to like multi positional players so if we do make another forward signing it may be someone who could play wide or up front

Some of the rumours of Villa players leaving are hilarious. The London press are best at it. Martinez and Watkins to Chelsea, Luiz to Spurs or Arsenal coupled with
Kamara to Liverpool. All utterly ridiculous suggestions! It shows they are now very worried about little Villa!!!
