I would give the Pau Carlos time though, both new to league essentially while Carlos hasn't played football in a year really. Can't just throw them in deep in together. I'd give them both legs together against Hearts and then look after international break to start them in PL
It's Hibs were playing

Cash starts??!!!!
I'd drop Konsa after the error for third, important to send message if standards drop.
And perhaps drop Martinez for rushing out and Watkins & Cash for their misses. Give your head a wobble

Mmmm wasnt exactly a big name when we signed him. Nobody had ever heard of him and even the fans from his own club in Belgium were saying he was too raw and not ready for PL. They were very wrong happily.
Fair enough, I remember I had heard of him though and was really excited that we got him

Literally every season people go into the last week thinking the REALLY big signing is still to happen. And it basically never does. Who was the last big name player we picked up in the last week of a window?
Benteke?

Whatever we do, the players we bring in have not had preseason with us and will need time to adapt. We need to rebuild confidence after the last few days events having rocked the club and kicked the stuffing out of us fans.
I haven't a clue what to expect will happen now! we could have a rocky season ahead or we could do well. All I know is I have no hopes or expectations for the season now. I dread to think about what might happen if we lose at home to Everton
What will happen is We'll be absolutely fine We have a strong squad built to withstand exactly the sort of misfortune that has occured. It's sad for the two players but we will get over it
Obviously judging by some of the over reaction from some fans they think our season has just disintegrated. Well it hasn't and we are still Top 6 contenders Just calm down everyone

There's no chance Unai would consider Maguire, he just does not fit the profile of an Emery centre half. We will always play a high line and Maguire could not cope with that.
He is far too slow in the recovery to suit our system so we don't need to worry about that peticular rumour!

Hilarious yesterday on ToffeeWeb site. First they thought he was signing for them."He's just what we need" "Great signing". Then they heard he'd said he wants to go to Villa " Shite player anyway" "Never wanted him"
Then they hear we weren't interested and they've got him "Great signing" Brilliant I loved it

I think it’s Diaby behind Watkins and maybe Philogene starting.
That's probably right but we are going to miss Buendia so much. Irreplaceable Im afraid

Can someone tell me what the hell the point of that 3rd bowl was? Uefa are a absolute laughing stock
To determine who is Home first!!

Was that Lazio's first team we played in the first half? They seemed almost disinterested. Villa played like they were the better team, but I found our performance difficult to judge because of the opposition's lack of intensity.
I thought Cash and Chambers had really good games considering the normal comments they get.
I think they seemed totally outplayed. That was their problem!!!

Great: Youri, Kamara, McGinn, Doug, Konsa
Below par: Coutinho, Buendia, Archer
Everyone else fairly routine... and we STILL looked absolutely brilliant for most of the match.
Can't agree with you on Coutinho or Buendia I thought they both looked sharp. Just didn't happen for Archer last night though

And who else can
Only youri looks like a competent pen taker
And Leicester fans berated him for missing one against Everton which would have made the game safe in a must win game which ended 2-2

What is certain is that when substitutions are made there will be no drop off of quality

Standout? he played 11 times.
His assists and goals are good. But i think 10m is a tempting price for a promising youth player that may never make an appearance. Not brilliant, just tempting.
We got double that for Chukwuemeka I'm not sure that's anywhere near enough. I wouldn't sell him anyway!

I do genuinely think we’ll be in for one more forward player who can play across the front line. A Torres, Doku, Felix type player. It might well be that it’s dependent on somebody leaving - so be it if that’s the case, ultimately we can’t cheat (even though Chelsea and City do).
A right back, I’d like one, but I don’t think Cash is a bad player. I think Buendia and Bailey are poor though so that’s where we should spend most of our budget.
Buendia is not poor, he's one of our best players. Just stop moaning about him-please He will prove you very wrong in our Unai based system.

If he likes him so much, why did he drop him at the end of last season?
Drop/rest There will be a lot of that this season throughout the team

It's amazing what a decent manager can do with an average squad of players though.
As a side note. Fergie was doing it at Man Utd for years and still winning trophies when the squads were also complete with their share of shit bang average players over the years.
When you have a manager that can get the best out of every player he has then you're already half way to success. If he adds additional quality to that squad, then it will be great to witness what is going to be achieved.
You'right, I think we all know who was really "shit" don't we

Buendia will play loads of games this season. He is one of our most creative players and defensively good too. Emery likes him, the crowd love him and so they should

During the last couple of years ,according to certain VTers McGinn,Luiz,Watkins,Cash, Digne, Bailey,Chambers,Dendoncker,Olsen and even Moreno have all been "shit"
It's pretty amazing what a good team we've become with all these "shit" players. Hopefully Monchi & Emery can bring some more "shit" players in

But thats the point stan. You dont have to be a "top" keeper to be better than olsen. Olsens a very bad keeper. Traces of nyland mark 2. You can see when he is in goal our defence is shakey and panicky. We need a keeper like steer who isnt injury prone to be our number 2
Olsen is NOT a "very bad" keeper. He is a good shot stopper. His weakness is his distribution which I'm sure they will have been working on. As a No.2 keeper he is fine
His main problem is trying to live up to our No.1 which is nigh on impossible for him!
