  1. Fernandes on the bench once again for Portugal. Awww.
  2. Germany not happy about not being allowed to train at Wembley ahead of the game. English FA claiming the pitch is in too bad shape so Germany banned and has decided to stay a day longer at home instead of travelling to England.
  3. Good thing he settled for a hand job.
  4. But with a 90% shorter neck.
  5. Props to the Czech coach for bringing on the Jan Koller clone.
  6. I'm not a fan of VAR either way but it should be the guy on the pitch who makes the call. If there is a situation the the VAR guys should just alert the ref and have him go watch the video. No need for the VAR guys to first spend minutes deciding if it is anything for the ref to go watch on the screen. Cut out the middle men.
  7. As it should be the ref on the pitch goes over and watches the video to come to his own decision about the situation.
  8. Correct call from the ref, that's a red.
  9. Must be close to red for that handball
  10. I get why the water breaks might be necessary but I still don't like them. Breaks the momentum and changes the game. Would absolutely hate if they implemented timeouts into the game, but would not be overly surprised if we have them at the US world cup in 2026.
  11. Another quality flip-flop from UEFA who are now saying rainbow flags are not political and absolutely OK.
  12. Czech keeper Tomás Vaclik is out of contract in 3 days, wonder if he'd be willing to come here as #2 / competition if the club feel they need a veteran keeper. Probably not as he'd likely want more football. Put himself in a nice position after his performances in the Euro's.
  13. It's like he's forgotten about Maguire.
  14. 5-4-1 with Bellingham, Henderson, Rice & Philips all playing and then Kane in his usual deep laying playmaker role
  15. Good ol' UEFA bowing down to bigotry and hate for the sake of Viktor Orbans money. https://nos.nl/artikel/2386884-uefa-verbiedt-regenboogvlag-in-stadion-en-oranje-fanzone-in-boedapest
  16. You think Tammy and his agent would settle for a £2k increase in wages? I'm guessing it would be more along the lines of £50m + £130k in wages. Anyway since you are done debating Tammy we'll just have to wait and see. Sure he'd do a fine job if we signed him.
  17. I absolutely think we need a new striker, I just don't see that being someone who costs £40m at the very least and who's already on very high wages playing for a high profile PL side and who's apparently unhappy with his playing time. Edouard, Alvarez, Nmecha and so on makes sense for me from both a financial and squad sense. Tammy honestly doesn't. I liked him as a player so it's not a personal thing.
  18. Yeah we might make that new Conference Cup, especially if some English clubs win the CL and Europa League. Not sure that cup would keep Grealish at the club if he's only staying for European football (not sure what that claim is based on)
  19. Ignoring all the rest because you clearly feel strongly about it. Why Tammy, why not someone else? Why is a very expensive, high wages player in a position we already have have a given starter the only way for us to move forward? Him or we the whole "project" fails? Why?
  20. I don't think there is a snowballs chance in h**l we'll qualify for Europe through the league next season. Never know with cups but I'd be surprised. Would need some of established top clubs to fail even worse than they did this season, and there is always a chance, but I'm also not sure we can hope to make strong and steady progress every season. It takes time.
  21. Fwiw I'd be happy for us to have 3-5-2 as a plan B system. Would need us to sign another attacker and a quality CB but other than that we have the players needed and possibly suited to it.
  22. Pretty sure everyone agrees with most of that, but signing Tammy for a club record sum to "add competition" to a position where we already have someone who is a certain starter isn't realistic or smart since we have other needs too. It's not about ambition it's about being realistic and smart. If we are changing formation to say a 3-5-2 then having another established striker like Tammy makes sense. But if not then we are not spending that kind of money on a rotation player. Rich owners and all you still have to look at the massive difference in turnover between us and the top 6-7 clubs. A season or 2 more of steady progress and smart dealings and we might buy squad players valued at £40m-£50m to hang around. Not yet thou.
  23. Ivan Perisic out of the Spain game with Covid
