    Hamburg have no reason to sell Elia so he'd cost a lot and I'm sure bigger clubs would be in for him as well. Anyway, why would we want Elia when we've got Ashley Young who is probably better than him?

    Darren Bent would easily get 40+ goals in the Erevidse considering Afonso Alves scored 35 goals in one season. I agree that Bent is better than Suarez. Suarez is also wasteful, for example, Suarez was on the ball about 30 yards out, and Forlan and Cavani were either side of him with only 3 defenders back, then Suarez shoots at goal when he really should have just passed it out wide to Cavani as they probably would have scored from that move.

    I think Anderson is a good player to be honest. He's going to turn into a great player IMO.

    If we don't make it through the group stage we HAVE to sack Capello! I've always said how nearly any manager could have qualified us from that group! We need to play 451 or 433 against Slovenia!

    Well we pay big wages to Sidwell, Beye, Heskey, Petrov and Downing so we can pay big wages to Rossi! I doubt he'd ask for more than what Carew is on and I also doubt he's on that much money at Villareal considering they bought him as a young untested striker a few years ago.

    Well if Villareal are skint I'd like us to attempt to buy Nilmar, Rossi and Altidore. Obviously not all of them but I think Villareal would be tempted with a £12 million bid for Rossi. He'd be great for us, exactly the type of player we need and would easily settle in at Villa because he's already played in the Premier League and can speak perfect English! For me, as long as the deal is less than £15 million, I think getting Giuseppe Rossi is a no-brainer for Villa.

    Yeah I think he'll flop I don't really remember any past world class player who has never played Premier League football before, moving to the PL and doing well after the age of 30. Shevchenko and Deco come to mind.

    So spend all three years of the sponsorship money in one go and forget about the next two years. Interesting idea. That's what Spurs did!

    Well Yakubu is about 33 now and is starting to be past it and Vaughan, while I think he is alright, he'll just get injured and Anichebe is just a younger version of Harewood IMO. In that he can look good sometimes, but most of the time he's not up to standard. Moyes will probably get the best out of Beckford and Joao is probably a good striker. I think Everton will have a good season next season as it looks as if Moyes is fed up with the poor starts to the season and is addressing it already.

    Good signings for Everton to get rid of there 3 strikers who are just rubbish.

    I think AVFC-POB has a point about Carew but if you think of the amount of goals Carew has scored in the cup games or coming on as a substitute when Heskey and Gabby aren't getting past the defence, then I think it just shows how important to Villa Carew is.

    I heard we're interested in Tomkins and Collison. I think Collison would be a good signing and West Ham are apparently interested in Sidwell so we could do a swap deal.

    I heard Ferdinand actually tried to tackle Heskey which is why he got injured, not Heskey tackling Ferdinand.

    He's far too slow and unfit to play in the Premier League now. His wages would be massive and he'd just get injured. Signing Ronaldo would be one of the worst in Premier League history!

    For £30 million we should accept definitely! He's a very good player, but he's not £30 million good. I think the perfect deal for us would be Onahua, Ireland and £10 million for Milner. I think that's fairly realistic aswell considering Man City wasted £40 million on Toure and Adebayor

    Yeah he is, he always calls himself a brummie, moved to Preston when he was 5 or 6, his family moved back down to Birmingham when he was 14 but he stayed up here on his own to carry on playing for us. Love the kid but injuries have held him back so much. He'd be pretty cheap I guess. I was pretty sure that Vaughan went to Arthur Terry school in Sutton Coldfield. You may be right but I thought he lived in Birmingham as a teenager.

    Strange how Carew gets a huge amount of stick on here, when last season was his best goals return in his whole career. In fact in the last 3 seasons he's hit 13, 15 then 17. I'm not criticising Carew by saying that, just saying that he's no improvement on Carew. And Yakubu is also injury prone and is probably older than Carew.

    Pastore is an Argentinian playmaker who plays for Palermo, he's in the Argentina squad so he must be pretty good. But he really isn't a MON type player
