Did his job. Looked good and composed. Nothing spectacular. Shame he got subbed for his brother as would have been poignant for them to play professionally together.
Same with the Ramsey’s, more so considering they’re Villa supporters.

Who is the fella that put that up on Twitter saying he’s going back to Brugge? Is he reliable?
Just asking because Twitter links/stories are usually laughed at on Villa Talk and people seem to have seen the link and 100% believed it to be true. Just wondering!
Yeah I know he wasn’t in the squad for last nights game, but it’s strange he came off the bench at the weekend against Newcastle.
If he does go out on loan I can only see that as the beginning of the end of his Villa career. Much like when Conor went on loan to Swansea last season.

Sure it is but at the same time I don't think throwing young players into starting 11's in the PL is the way to go, which is why it rarely happens.
If they’re good enough…

We don't need to be spunking £35m on Damsgaard when we've got this kid.
Like Chukwuemeka, he makes the game look so easy.
I keep reading Damsgaard being mentioned on Villa Talk. Have we actually been properly linked with him?
and very well played JPB!

Villa's phone will be ringing in the morning to take this lad on loan
Is that you Glenn Murray?

A first class debut. Looks full of pace and on tonight’s display a very good finisher.

And another assist. Take him off and rest for the weekend. Great finish from Archer, well done!

Nah they will follow the Sky lead and call him disrespectful for doing a Panenka
Would be typical.

@Delphinho123 would have had kittens!
I bet he is now that Anwar has just scored his second of the night. Again, we know the opposition. Still, nice work. He’s on for the hattrick…

Thank god it went in, otherwise 95% of Villa Talk would blew the him hanged.

Good start from Anwar tonight. You can only play the team on the fixture list.

Harry winks, Fred, Curtis Jones played plenty, Harvey Elliot is coming through at Liverpool now and Oliver Skipp at Spurs
I think Harvey Elliot is a special talent.

I think some people expect too much. He isn't going to totally dominate a midfield in the premier league, just yet. But the potential is there to see. Strong , good balance, speed and technique. He will score goals too , im sure of it.
100% agreed mate.

Love weird things like this.
Nobby Solano scored one from a corner where he flicked it up for himself.
Allback possibly once as well?
I remember it being a Monday night game live on Sky. Can’t remember who it was against though, Tottenham?

Hourihane will be moving on. So in the minds of some people on Villa Talk he’s as good as gone. Has been since January. So we’ve found our next victim. Class.
He’s an average squad player for an average mid table team. Yes that’s where we’re at right now. We might have ambitions to fly higher, but it’s where we’re currently at.
Let’s get behind our players while they play for the club. UTV.

Lol. A confident el Ghazi? When has he been confident? How many times has he had the chance to gain confidence only to then put in a horrid display after the event?
This idea that he’s a confidence player is just an excuse for him playing poorly week in week out. He’s just not very good.
Remember his purple patch last season when he was scoring for fun? Possible December, not 100% sure on that, but yeah. For me he is very much a confidence player.
how much was he signed for? About 5 million or so. I’m not sure what class of player you expect for that sort of money. He’s served us well in terms of what we paid. I agree that ideally he’s not a starter but I think he is a decent squad option, especially coming from the bench.

This is a myth too. Just an excuse for being poor.
So some football players don’t rely on confidence?
You are wrong. This is a fact. While he might not be Ronaldo or whoever, I’d much rather have a confident El Ghazi, f he is starting.

We all know El Ghazi is a confidence player and that pen will do him the world of good.

Looked good today. He’s not afraid to get on the ball and looks tidy. Definitely didn’t look out of place. Well done today Jacob.
