He looks just like another Hourihane.
Except he can tackle and control the ball.
Oh and run.
And Hourihane is our only midfielder then? Your reply doesn’t really answer my question.

Starting to get pissed off with this.
Bailey, Watkins, Traore…
Our whole season is going to get derailed by shitty injuries.
We’ve only played one game. Relax. Let’s see how we get on today.

He looks really good in this video. Reminds me a lot of McGinn.
So another midfielder similar to what we have?

It annoys me when players like Jordon ibe get sold for £15m yet the consensus of selling AEG for anything more than £10m is daylight robbery by us.
Exactly, I totally agree with this. Ibe will never score the amount of premier league goals in his career as El Ghazi did last season. Penalties or not.
I imagine if El Ghazi went on to another club and did well we’d have the same ppl saying we should have persisted with him. For me El Ghazi is a decent squad option for where we currently are. Unpopular opinion on Villa Talk, who cares.- 2

Can't believe he's only 29. Seems to have been around for about 20 years!
29 years to be exact

Yes we have excellent owners now but I have been a Villa fan for over 60 years and my memories are long. On the issue of Doug - he meant well but was risk averse to the point he held us back. Under Doug we finished second in the first year of the Premiere League but complacency set in and we have never really bothered the scorer again. I do hope our new owners are successful but my hopes are influenced by years of failure. Forty years ago we won the league followed by the European Cup and Super Cup (beating Barcelona). Since then a few League Cups nothing more!
Oh how I’d settle for another few League Cups. I’m easy pleased.

With all due respect, his loyalty really wasn’t tested with our interest! We’re not exactly In with a real chance of winning trophies this season.

Respect to JWP. Watch him leave next season for silly money if he has a good season.
To Liverpool.

True. Owen is a special kind of stupid though off the pitch.
But loved in the stables.

"I obviously spoke to the staff and players before I left but I had to stop towards the end because I was going to cry a little," Grealish told Sky Sports."But it was something I couldn’t turn down. I read something about Michael Owen when he left for Real Madrid and he said if he didn’t move he would regret it and I didn’t want to feel the same.”
And now Owen is not really truly loved by any set of supporters.

I find it slightly annoying that an injured Sanson is probably the reason we can't bring in a player like Ward Prowse. Never really got that signing.
Sorry but why can’t we bring in a player like Ward-Prowse? Who actually said we can’t?

Talking of winning fouls I wonder how many Grealish would have won for this season now the refs don’t seem to be giving the soft ones.
To be honest I don’t care. Let him work away at Man City. Let’s move on!
Not getting at you btw!

An open question to all V’talkers:
Free kicks aside (not discounting their value to a team) is he better in open play than McGinn, Nakamba and Luiz?
I’ve genuinely never paid that much attention to him, set pieces aside.

It's weird. Since he has left, I have no interest in how he's doing. I've no desire to hear anything about him. Not in any childish way. It's just he's irrelevant now. He's done what he's done and that's fine. I don't feel the need to wish him well or ill. He'll do what he does, and once he's doing it 'over there' i.e. not here, then I couldn't care less. He's just another footballer.
That’s exactly where I am at too.
I’ve actually stopped following him on social media now too, I just don’t want to see it.

Catch22, we're being milked for every penny but we need to grow our income. Plus everybody else does it.
Yep. At least we haven’t got into the whole 4th kit release yet. Yet! Now that is really a **** joke!

I personally thought he looked decent after coming in at half time yesterday.

Just seen bits of Dean’s presser on Sky Sports news. They asked him about us being in for James Ward-Prowse and with a big smile on his face he said 'I never talk about players from other clubs'. So I think that there is still strong interest and something could very well happen.
if our interest had been 100% rebuffed then he’d have said so. This is still one link to watch. I think it will happen.

I think I’ve said this before, a mate of mine has a theory that shorter player leap higher because they have too and conversely many taller players don’t use their height to it’s full advantage. I think he’s right, Alan Wright for example was much better in the air than his height would suggest.
Ahh Alan Wright. A very, very good player!

Agreed, there's a reason he gets in the England squad ahead of Connor, as much as i love him.
Because Conor is Irish, possibly?

Spot on. Sell AEG. Sign Alvarez.
Hasn’t the Alvarez link gone quiet though?
it’s all well and good saying we’d break Roma’s arm for 17 million for El Ghazi. Although that gets you very little these days. Unless we unearth a Leicester type gem, although what are the actual chances of that.
