He’ll be back as a player someday, and will be welcomed back with open arms. Of that I have no doubt. UTV.

Cantwell is not a bad player imo. He's not Grealish but he has similar traits to Grealish when Grealish was a few years younger.
I think Smith has made Grealish a better player since he became the Villa manager, if he can do similar with Cantwell then it could be a very astute signing.I think Smith has improved most of our players to be fair to him. Get Cantwell in.

Whilst Cantwell isn’t in the same class as Jack, I’ve always been an admirer of him. Good player and find himself in good positions. Was really impressed with him during their season in the Premier League two seasons ago. Reminded me of Lee Hendrie for us back in the day.

Was real but I got it now. Now I wanna know why he was DMing Ty Bracey!!
Possibly sees him as having a bit of clout, being on Villa View the odd time and that.

Oh fook off... This was actually true... 30 million for a 29 year old injury prone striker when we could have had Tammy for a little more than that? If we sign Cantwell too, I'm going to have a stroke...
Ohhhh a stroke you say…

Good player, good goal scorer. Potentially a very good signing, however I am massively worried about his injury record. Oh that coupled with our history of bad injuries with players. Best of lucky at the Villa Danny. Welcome.
All feels a bit hallowed for me though with Jack more than likely leaving. Take me a while to get over that I think.

Gutted, Just had to return my new HS Yes, I know I'm a bit of a fat b@stard these days but the fitment seems way off especially compared to other manufactures. Anyone else had any issues?
Always go a size up with Kappa. Simple.

Cameron Archer has joined Solihull Moors on loan until January.
The pacy teenage forward has made the short move across the midlands to link up with the Vanarama National League side, whose league season gets underway this weekend.
Academy graduate Archer has made three appearances for Villa’s Under-23s so far this season.
He made his first-team debut last term in the club’s Carabao Cup triumph at Crewe Alexandra, stepping off the bench as a late substitute.
Good luck at the Moors, Cameron!
he's 19 in december i think?, for me, it doesnt bode well that a player who is 2 months sway from 19 is going to a National League team, i could be wrong though.
I’d have thought the exact same. Very low level.

Its true though, he was far from the worst player last night and the player who got the most posts after the game. Its like the Wesley or El Ghazi threads all over again
Don’t forget the biggest scapegoat, Conor Hourihane.

Then he’s destined to fail
Well I couldn’t care if he fails or not at another club. I’m only concerned with Villa and the players that play for us.

Can you see us handing Brentford over £50m+ for for two players in the same window?
I don't think he wants to move away from London.
There's a reason why he is still at Brentford, if he does move I think it's to a London club.
Probably West Ham.

It certainly is odd that no team has taken a chance on him. I'm sure a deal could be agreed with Brentford, like we did with Watkins, but no one has taken the risk.
Makes you wonder why?
Maybe Brentford are asking too much. Now that would be a shocker!

Great signing and a much better uograde than conor and lansbury
No point in even mentioning Lansbury. Really don’t see him as a Villa player. Just picking up a wage. I honestly think we only give him minutes in the cup in the hope we can get him out on a loan. Personally I think it’s unfair in even mentioning Hourihane with Lansbury, he’s been a good player for us since signing. Whilst Lansbury has done virtually nothing. Although of course you are right, Barkley is a big upgrade.
Barkley will hopefully be a great signing. Certainly a statement signing, and one people will sit up and take notice of. Fingers crossed Trent is right and there will be an option to buy for a set fee that’s already agreed.

well from how I saw it was he tried to trap it for himself but miscontrolled it into Hourihane path. I dont complain, a goal is a goal
That’s how I seen it too. Great to see him play so well again!

It seems that SJM is always excused, Hourihane is never excused, that's by both management and fans.
Hourihane was much more effective last night but gets subbed. I can understand why hes peed off.
Last season mcginn played 800 minutes more than hourihane. Hourihane scored the same number of goals had and 2 more assists. I'm not suggesting he should be a first choice starter, but the odd mcginn wonder goal shouldn't guarantee him a starting place either.
I really like both of them btw.
100% agree.

This is true, but McGinn has far more credit in the bank
Yeah and we also won the European Cup. For me it’s about what is happening on the pitch and who is playing better during the current game, not about the past and credit in the bank.

Was fine today.
Of our midfield three Luiz showed his quality, McGinn was poor and Hourihane somewhere in between.
I agree. Hourihane takes some criticism with Villa fans, but McGinn played worse last night.
