  1. I'm sure some journalists think they get commission for every deal they talk about. That said, would love Given here, and I think it would be a fantastic first signing.
  2. Re-reading those quotes - he's just trying to get a better deal. Now Young has gone, he knows that he is top dog (with Bent), and he wants a new wage that reflects that. Also for Villa to spend with 'ambition' to challenge for Champions League.
  3. According to Sky Sports and their famous sources. Stoke have bid for both Cameron Jerome and Scott Dann.... ... About 16m as well apparently. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11701_7008473,00.html
  4. Mentioned this on the Transfer Thread on the Villa section... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13928823.stm
  5. Okay so no past. Present: Where did Liverpool finish the season? Who's team would you rather have? If you gave anyone outside of the UK - 20 seconds to name PL clubs... who do you think they pick first? Liverpool are better at the moment, no denying; and their past is better than nearly all PL clubs (except Man Utd). If you're not WUMing than you need to go to hospital.
  6. I expect Liverpool to sign him for about £13m. Happen to think he's quite average. So do I. I think it's a great move for Sunderland, his price will increase a lot, and they can get a profit from him. Saying that, I haven't seen him play much, and am interesting in seeing him play. Liverpool though? Carroll/Suarez/Kuyt? Yeah I suppose they have room to be fair.
  7. That means nothing.. Pearce is useless anyway. Agreed. Playing Mancienne in DCM in front of Rodwell, and then playing Rodwell, Mancienne and Henderson in one team. That's not forgetting playing Danny Rose, above Scott Sinclair and putting Sturridge on the wing...!
  8. Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but according to the BBC, Sunderland have bid £8 million for Connor Wickham Link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13873800.stm
  9. I don't want him to stay. I'd rather he went now and we just bring in players who want to play for us. Absolute joke. I totally agree having just seen that picture on the page before. Is it worth trying to show the club this to show them what a clearing in the woods he is?
  10. I think AMc/RL will convince him to stay till January. If we are top 6, he'll stay - if not he'll push for the move and go for £15m I think.
  11. # wit hthe supply line and his finishing talent i expected him to get 30-40 goals last year and the fact he got only 2 goals in last 3 months was a shocker for his talent Barcelona scored 95 goals in the league, and are a team full of goalscorers. For a first season, he's done very well - and won the league and Champions League with the team - can't see how anyone would moan?! Also... they have this little fella called Messi? Apparently he's quite good and got 31 goals in the league last season.
  12. Agreed - I'd take Kasper as our second keeper without even blinking. He's not bad, and quite young - I'd have him over Guzan (who only seems good at penalties).
  13. I don't know why really - Villa fits their style perfectly. Works well with all the players around him, and 18 goals in 34 (Wikipedia) is quite good considering the talent around him.
  14. Read somewhere he might be going to Newcastle Only if Joey Barton leaves, and after his comments earlier about 'only leaving for a Champions League club', I can't see him going any time soon.. I believe both Sunderland and Newcastle we're interested. Newcastle need to replace Nolan, remember. Anyway...
  15. The 600 or so Villa fans who spent a couple of hours singing "Shit on the City" and "**** off Small Heath, the city is ours" last night haven't helped with the media's interpretation of things though. True but a few of the interviews i saw with some of those fans were telling the interviewer he's not up to the job of managing Villa nothing to do with the fact he used to manage bloose :? That's a bit harsh - he's only an interviewer.... :winkold:
  16. Did anyone watch the U21 game last night and wish we had Lansbury instead of Ireland? He seemed to really know that poisiton behind the striker.
  17. Whos pissing on the fan base? Well it's raining... but it's raining on everyone, not specifically Villa fans... :|
  18. I think you'll find that them that clear those woods, pissed them off by doubting them and giving them grief - so they left. Well they did sort of call it all wrong. As I recall up until Sunday or maybe even Monday MM was adamant that AM was nowhere near the job. I agree he then backtracked but it was pretty clear what was happening by then. BTW I'm not anti ITK's I just take what they say with a heavy pinch of salt. Lots of posters, including myself on a couple of occasions, hear things. Whether they are true or not is a different question and I don't think unreasonable to be sceptical. Unfortunately as soon as you give information or are labelled ITK, you start to get a lot of grief.
  19. Yes, our first signing once McLeish is in place will be Rory Delap. I know an interesting fact about Rory Delap... hmm, can't seem to remember it.

  21. i think you need to s t f u I think you need to calm down and move away from the keyboard, internet warrior. i think you should support blues if you want to suck off mccliesh so much Boy Scout, calm down.... and I think you'll find he's not their manager, not really well im jus thinking whats best for him, that way hell get first dibs on the next shit manager they employ..... Boy Scout, why would you wish that upon any true Villa fan? Don't mention the Sty... I did once... and I regretted it ever since.

  23. What has he achieved that McLeish hasn't? Not getting relegated TWICE!!!! And how long has he been classed as a "manager"? Pretty sure he's had one job, and not won anything.
  24. What has he achieved that McLeish hasn't? he's played better football. I'm not saying hes anywhere near my first choice - but he's a better, cheaper option than mcleish. Could you imagine a mcleish team scorng 6 in one game? That's one seventh of all the goals his team scored last year! So you're saying you have no faith in Darren Bent? Are you even comparing Darren Bent and any blues striker? Thought not.
