  1. LOL They finished 15th position, they were 1 point above relegation in Jan of that season and finished on a whopping 40 points which was, as u say, their highest ever points tally in the PL, Its amazing how, without context, something can be made sound slightly better than it actually is
  2. Nobody with any sense is worried Gerrard will relegate Villa.
  3. I don't think I am missing any key facts. The point is not about the individual players that were purchased., it is the fact that for the first year or so the Arsenal fans thought he was an awful manager, no tactics, wrong selection, wrong subs etc, exactly the same as on VT with Gerrard. And Arteta has turned it around and they love him. New managers need time to prove themselves or not
  4. That's spending budget well within Villa's spending since NSWE bought us. But the money is not the point, the point is that he is a success there now, they are playing great football and getting results. Gunners fans didn't think this was possible with Arteta, read an Arsenal forum from the first 6/12 months of Arteta's reign and it is very similar to reading VT about SG
  5. Surely, what u have just said suggests this is not his best? There are lots of managers that take some time to adapt. Just look at Arteta now, Gunners fans wanted him and Edu dragged out of Arsenal last season. There are not too many calling for their heads now
  6. I now have a mental picture that is u taking a selfie
  7. Who was it scored for us today?
  8. And if she gives u a BJ next weekend?
  9. How many games has Gerrard managed in the PL?
  10. We should have scored 2 goals: Couts and Leon but Couts goal is not included in the xG stats as the whistle had gone. Equally, Konsa, not included in the xG stats. Ollie early on too, JJ with the poor first touch. How can u say we play like that and don't score. Believe your eyes and not the stats
  11. But he is not any manager, he is an inexperienced novice PL manager who has only managed about 30 odd games in this league. We were very aware of this from the start and we knew that the club had taken the risk with a novice manager. I think that with a novice manager that is learning in the PL we need to give him some time to show he can learn and improve, otherwise it was a waste of time taking the risk with him
  12. That is a perfect example of when actually watching a game and understanding how it unfolded and looking at stats can yield very different interpretations.
  13. Does that not depend on whether or not the manager had an influence on the result?
  14. Looking at the replays, the City defenders had stopped play. Not sure they could have done anything about it but they had stopped
  15. I don't think they had but the goal can't be given once the whistle. They will be turning off mentally if not physically, it was only about 1 second after the whistle that Couts scored
  16. Did Gerrard just say he was going to change is approach?
  17. The biggest concern from that game for moving forward was how much better we were with Ash instead on Cash.
  18. Rather than can't, there is no point, regardless whether it was onside or offside, once the whistle has gone a goal cannot be given
  19. Isn't the ref meant to blow the whistle? It was the linesman that messed up and not the ref
