I will wait further down the window before I start losing patience but it would give a lot more reassurance to us fans if we could see a clear strategy going on, at present we mainly have dubious journalist guesses or so called ITK to go on..

All of these optimistic and structured discussions are killing me, we all know how much it means to bring through an academy player, and this lad (along with several others), does seem to have the potential so personally should be given the opportunity to sit on the bench with the aim of giving some first team game time when possible. As ramshackler says this is a great time while there is no crowd pressure to get some game time in PL stadiums against PL teams.. And ohhh yer ...... They are killing me cus until we kick a ball I have blind optimism that this could be our year to actually get a real foothold back in the Prem ....

It's all relative to a degree though isn’t it.. We could always wait 9 months until he is on a free but if Heaton does not come back quickly or perform well straight away then we may be a championship team by then. From what I saw of him he is a solid keeper that appears to be available at a good price, we definitely need someone like him so why not him, the length left on his contract probably does mirror the reason he is only being touted at £8m...

Or just slower and more frustrated, this type of high stat is worrying without a goal and assist ratio to go with it ...
