In Jack Grealish’s video interview on the official site, he said that Ezri Konsa is the hardest defender to dribble past in training. Before the Coronavirus, Konsa was sitting on our bench, we had a £12m future England centre back, I think it shows how strong our squad actually is

Yet when he plays he doesn't stand out at all in a very average team. I'm not convinced yet.

Nick, I think any Government subjected to this , has a monumental task to please everyone...its nigh on impossible....especially, with Piers Morgan, prodding the bear with every question.lol

Your point is valid, no one wants football to return to a cost of life....of players or anyone else associated with football....one life lost, is too many.

thats why in my feeble mind, the season should be cancelled, that is the safest, way out.

With the Tories it's always, 'But they're doing a tough job'. And now one pundit is calling them out who wouldn't usually and it's all down to Piers Morgan. If you're a Tory supporter, I think you might want to compare the media treatment of your party and compare it with the others. I imagine the conclusion is 90% of the press is a Tory mouthpiece and they don't get held to account nearly enough. Can you imagine if the Labour party had one of the worst responses to this virus in Europe/the entire world?

It's not about 'pleasing everyone'—it's about not killing off your people. Johnson and his government have been shown up as the bunch of lying chancers that they had already shown themselves to be over and over again and none of this is a surprise. They don't care about the normal people of the UK and they never have. The world think we're as much a joke as the US.

If all the players + staff is corona tested and there is literally no chance of infection we still can't play because of.. reasons?

I mean if this was so easy to achieve, it would be happening everywhere.

The police can set up barricades around the stadiums. It should be possible to easily control the fans without having to be playing on neutral pitches.

If all the players, coaches + rest of the staff is corona tested negative it's next to no chance of infection.

Learn from Germany and follow a plan and guidelines that works.

The answer to nothing right now requires the police to set up actual barricades, surely!

But surely they have "gelled" more now since the opening game? Yet we look a worse side now.

You would think we would see improvements over time, not getting worse.

There are definite angles to use, but this just seems way too simplistic. Reality is more complicated.

Significant because it's more leagues that aren't just nulling and voiding the season, and there's a good chance that premier league would use the same formula to determine the table should it be deemed that games can't be played... Looking at it from strict footballing point of view it seems our only chance of surviving is if the season does carry on, whether that be via relegation being scrapped as a result of having to play at neutral venues, or because we earn it on the pitch.

It would put us presumably on 35 points (different ppg home and away). Anyone want to do the maths for the other teams?

EDIT: Watford would be on 36.

I can see where this is going...

If the season can’t finish then we should go the french way. Relegate the bottom 2 and promote Leeds and West Brom.

Er but we're second bottom and have played a game less than all but one team and pretty much the least number of home games. How's that fair?

Ha yeah I tried to get that one as an alternative but couldn't get that either! (Yeah I could have done digital, but I like being able to sell when I'm done).

I've got Animal Crossing. I like it. It's not a game where you can go and smash out 19 hours and progress, it's more of a marathon.

It's helping me relax as C19 has made my anxiety flair up big time, due to being vulnerable - and living with somebody who is a key worker.

I've basically just played it like a sim game. It's fun. Feel free to add me on the Switch and come visit. I even made a Villa shirt to wear 😂😁

Ha I just made a Villa shirt. Before the virus I wouldn't have even given AC a moment's thought. I got it last week though and it's truly relaxing in a way I didn't really anticipate.

Same with Ring Fit, too. Two games I was like, 'What the **** are they. They look shit' and now they're on rotation. Along with Skyrim.

Man i really want ring fit but its bloody sold out eveywhere. Didnt realise be this popular

There's a site called nowinstock.net. You can set up Amazon stock alerts. I think on Game you can set it to email you when they have stock too. I'm in Spain and I managed to get a copy. We can't even go outside pretty much, so it's been useful! You definitely get a sweat on.

We've missed him as much as we miss a STD. Samatta has been twice the player.

He really hasn't. He's looked OK but he's hardly done anything that impressive and has looked on the most part as isolated as Wesley, partly because we're not a very good team. He looks as if he can header though.

That's an enormous amount of pressure to put on Smith.

After seeing us this season i don't expect a top 2 finish in the Championship at all. We'll do well to finish in the top 6 with this horrendous squad.

I think it's a squad lacking in the Prem, but it would be a different story in the Championship, presuming there would be some tweaks and evolutions over the summer. Look at Targett—he was a standout in the Championship, but in the Premier League, he's just OK.

I think there's a lot to be said about our having to get so many players up to speed over the summer. It should never happen like that—players are always trying to get up to speed, even more so because so many came from abroad.

There could be a lesson in all this for the future: don’t be so shit that you’re ever in the bottom three because if the season were to suddenly end because of a global pandemic, you’ll be relegated.

If we hadn’t been so shit for almost three quarters of the season then we wouldn’t find ourselves in this position, but as it happens, here we are.

If we get relegated then so be it.

Lesson part 2, don't also be good in the league cup and get to a final at the same time because you'll have played a game less by the time the pandemic happens.

  14. Has anyone played Fifa 20 on the Switch and can comment on how the online is? I know it's a legacy version and all of that. I have no access to a PS4 or XB1 or anything, haven't bought Fifa for years but wonder if a bit of FUT might be fun for a bit. It's on sale here in Spain, so I can get it for £28 physical and sell it when I'm done, so the money isn't that bad (even considering the laziness of the production).

Not entirely unrealistic that they will relegate no one and promote the top 2 (or 3) and play the league with more teams next season with more teams getting relegated that season.

Far from ideal and not the most likely scenario but could happen.

Will be a mess regardless what they do.

The top clubs don't want to play the shit clubs as it is. No way they'd allow it.

From what I’ve been reading this morning, they are on about making the games behind closed doors, this will definitely not help us, we need a packed villa park with an atmosphere like against Everton till the end of the season

Yeah I think if (when) this happens then we're done.

Although you do hear about shit five a side teams in training winning in-training competitions. So maybe...

If the FA makes the decision to suspend football in the country or call the season with current league positions final, Villa are going down. This weekend's game is **** massive, biggest game of the year, IMO. (If it's even played.)

Yeah it'd be good if we got out of the relegation zone this weekend. But other teams will still have played an extra game than us—so hopefully they all lose anyway.

Shit, just looked at the fixtures and there are some points to be had for the rivals. Come on Wolves, Palace, Arsenal and Leicester.

It'd be typical if they all lose.

No, but Norwich have a Championship squad. We have a squad that is underachieving. I just want to stay up. If Allardyce can do that I couldn't give a shit if he is our manager.

Why do you think our squad is so much better than Norwich's squad? They got promoted as a well-oiled, good team last year. We had to buy a whole new team and do everything on the fly—purchasing a load of players in the process who had obviously never played together and who had on the most part never played in England.

when he didnt know what division he would be in either. Engels and Guilbert were certainly signed for the Championship with Smith watching Engels at Brentford

We bought Engels in July. He was obviously bought for the Prem.
