Just seen ssn were struggling to get a striker for me villa recruitment and management are accountable they knew we needed a striker and backup strikers for well over a month. Leaving it to the last minute you get your fingers burnt.

Do you think maybe that they didn't leave it to the last minute?

Hmm To work or repeatedly press F5 all day. The great biannual debate

Not aimed at you but does anyone know an app that would notify a person when there is actual transfer news? I'm not saying official signings.

If only Villareport had an app.

Oh, or is there something I can do on Twitter? I can deal with a couple of tweets of bullshit. It's better than refreshing villatalk all day.

Thankful for his service. He's welcome to move on. Do you want to give him 5 year extension?

Nobody said that. He can leave for first team football, but 'being a pragmatist' doesn't mean you cant acknowledge what he did for us without coming across as if he bonked your girlfriend.

I'm a pragmatist. People want results and be sentimental at the same time. Successful clubs aren't sentimental

He literally **** his knees up to continue playing for us, helping us pick up valuable points. Who knows what would have happened had he not done that. What's wrong with you?

Would very much like us to be in there if he's available. Send him back there until the Summer ala Freddie.

Shame on you. When this was loading I thought it was going to be something exciting 😭.

Either way, the guy trying to build and coach a team should be the major say on any signings.

It doesn't mean he doesn't. It means he's not the one making phonecalls and doing the actual negotiating. I think that's pretty standard.

Ohhh so I’m not allowed to debate on a debate website.  Got ya!

I guess that was my response to your debate—"A player at 19 is not stuck in one mode forever."

In my opinion you come across overly critical, which is what I said in response to the debate—as in, as part of the debate you're having on a debate website, that is my response. It's still a debate when people disagree with you and think you're being overly critical. Or do we just have to listen to you and say nothing back?

Of course you can say what you want, but you've definitely kind of hijacked the thread for the last hour or so. We get it.

I feel if I go on a bit of a scoring run I’ll be unstoppable as well.  He hasn’t before, why will he now?

You definitely seem to be going out of your way to be negative here. A player at 19 is not stuck in one mode forever. But you know that—you're just not interested in anything other than telling everyone how much you don't rate Davis, which has been made abundantly clear!

  10. This thread is like opposite land with Villalad being reasonable while someone else seems to have a lot of unreasonable hate.

I like Davis. He last played properly for us a couple of years ago when he was only 19, and he made a huge difference to us back then.

I don't think it's unreasonable to consider he might improve as he gets older (and he's decent anyway—he always impresses me).

I also saw him hold the ball up well when it was played into his feet and he was able to retain possession and lay it off.

That alone is an upgrade on when El Ghazi has played there.

I keep seeing this but El Ghazi did that plenty of times against Watford. Let's be honest, beyond the positivity of the result, it wasn't a memorable debut. But that's to be expected... what a game to play his first game, against a very good team in a semi final. All games are pressure games for us though. Davis made a big difference for us and I think it would be right to start him next time around. There's obviously a lot more to come from Samatta but he might need some time. And we'll have to find ways to give him some.

Seems he's already quite advanced given Barca picked him up

Whaaa. It's not as if Barca only pick up 11 first team ready players for their actual youth teams. Sometimes I wonder about logic in this country. I'm not sure why else I'd think anything alternative. I believe in the UK.

Hepburn-Murphy made his debut at the age of Sixteen, Grealish played a full season for Notts County at the age seventeen, think he might have been sixteen at the start of that season, both are of those were very slight, you don't have to be fully developed physically to make your debut, what you have to be care of is playing players that young too much as that can have it's affects, but giving them game time here and there if they're good enough (stating the obvious) can have it's benefits.

RHM made his debut but he was way too slight to make a difference—it seemed to be the key thing that held him back. @Mazrim You can be small and strong. He'd be up against Premier League defenders. I think it's important so that he's not bullied off the ball. Jack played League 1 at 17, not Premier League. He is also a different type of player by all accounts of Barry.

Would Man Yoo count Jude Bellingham as a signing if they got him from Small Heath for £20m? Would he start for them? Probably not but they’d be looking to prepare him for the first team squad. If Barry is as good as he’s reputed to be, then he’s old enough to be gradually blooded in and around the first team. For that reason, I count him as a proper signing.

He's 16. Personally I think peeps are getting carried away. I guess we'll see in time. It would be nice to have a wonderkid coming through (another one).
