The only problem is that Davis is allergic to scoring.
Compare them. One is more useful.
Samatta loses the ball and can't score.
Davis keeps the ball, brings others into play and can't score.

Davis and El Ghazi on at half time please.
It's so obvious. Everything breaks down with Samatta and Trezeguet. Every time. I can't take it.

I'd be tempted to bring on Davies and El Ghazi already
This. We'd be a passable team if we had even passable quality in place of Samatta and Trezeguet.
Also, Wesley >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Samatta.

I can't take watching Trezeguet **** up these great positions over and over again. We've been in good positions.
-
Samatta touches the ball in good positions and loses it every time. Same with Trezeguet. This is our problem. The quality in attack is woeful.

I thought he looked good against Palace. I think he's been getting more up to speed over the course of this post-lockdown run of games. It's good to have him back in the team.

Some people will indeed view the new statue as the ideal monument to the symbolic act of toppling the statue of a slave trader , but (caveat I've not followed the BLM debate that closely ) weren't there some questionable objectives with the BLM movement that are not really something a lot of people would feel comfortable commemorating ? So , some of those people, who aren't all gammons and racists ,who were probably ambivalent are now potentially going to be a bit irked by it ? Jen Reid might just be your run-of-the-mill activist and not a diehard Marxist , but I'm sure someone is currently trawling through her Internet history looking for dirt.
On the general debate , I think it is a mistake to automatically adopted this default position that everyone objecting to the statue is a gammon or a racist ... My view has been that the existing Colston statue was probably right to come down , but the way they toppled it was wrong (Its well documented I'm not a fan of mob rule taking the law into their own hands ). The artists stunt today is quite provocative and should spark some more debate and awareness, which is a good thing, but ultimately the statue has to come down (correctly and not carried out by a baying mob ) .... or they could go through the process of having it approved like any other statue would be . The people of Bristol were promised a consultation of what should go on the plinth ,who knows, they might be proud of the statue and want it to stay in place. That opinion is neither gammon , nor racist , but in effect the conversation is already essentially fingers in the ear and la la la I can’t hear you ..quite sad really , I think its important discussions should be had .
Pretty sure there hasn't been a movement in history where people haven't tried to discredit it. That's the same thing here with BLM. At its most basic, and the reason people have been protesting, is in protest at racial inequality, against racism, and, obviously, the horrendous way black people keep getting killed by police in America. It's all of that though.
People haven't been protesting in order to overthrow capitalism (although, we should note capitalism is an ever-evolving thing, and a lot of what we see these days is exploitative and bullshit, and deserves a critical eye). But there are a lot of people who would like to make people with only half an eye on the situation think that actually BLM is anti-white (bullshit) and about communism (also bullshit—although there are people everywhere with the view that our economic system caters for and benefits a select few, and who would argue with that? Sure, capitalism generates wealth too, but there are flip sides to this. We should be able to discuss everything, all of it openly without people crying about Marxist this and that. I kept this in the brackets because, as I say, contrary to some people's desires, the issues raised by BLM are about racism.)
I'm as open-minded about this as can be. The BLM statue in Bristol is a stunt it seems? I kind of think it's way too provocative and a bit of a dickish thing to do. Of course there should be a different statue in Bristol—a statue that marks something specific to Bristol, one that doesn't depict a slave trader like he's some kind of thing to be lauded. There are a lot of options.

Sadly I think it's too little too late.
We are relying on far too many permutations and I just can't see them all going our way. I have a feeling Watford or Bournemouth are going to pull off a shock result that will seal our fate.
They've already had their share of them I hope!

Sorry, a few pages back on this very thread I said that the person responsible deserves appropriate punishment, why would my opinion have changed?
In addition it has earlier been suggested that maybe we have to hang one 12-year-old out to dry as a lesson for others in the future
I didn't see that. I was only reacting to the sentence 'We need to be very careful as a society if that is the path some want to go down'.

I was saying it in the game. I'm not sure why Jack isn't making more noise. He looks troubled, but he needs to be raising the bar when it comes to passion. He's the captain. He's a fan. He should get it.
Pretty sure I remember him looking happy a moment afterwards though in the next bit of the celebration.

When I first reported this I said the perpetrator should get the appropriate punishment, I find it odd that you suggest that I may not understand some action needs to be taken ??
People have commented regarding naming and shaming him on social media and much worse, Also if you look it is suggested In just a couple of posts above this that they suspect it was an adult who made the comment, to quote ‘trying to throw a kid under a bus‘ .
All I’ve said is I hope that that does not happen, especially at a time when the subject matter is very much in the news on a day-to-day basis and so sensitive that it could provoke perceivably lead to the wrong course of a action in dealing with the matter
The first part of my post was a genuine question. I agree, a 12 year old does not need public shaming. Of course not. Surely nobody suggested that. If they did—yeah they are dicks.

Correct, some kids have not got a clue but grow up to be fine upstanding citizens, throwing 12 year old off a cliff is not the way to go about it. We need to be very careful as a society if that is the path some want to go down
What do you actually think is going to happen to him though to justify this fear you have? I know throwing him off a cliff is a metaphor, but I imagine he'll have a few words and that's it. He deserves it too, but we all understand that, right?
Just because we heard about it in the news doesn't make it a sign of a dark decent into extreme reactions against twelve year old idiots.

I live in Madrid. I was going to live elsewhere in Europe too and had an eye on certain jobs in Germany. From the bottom of my heart, the hatred I feel towards Leave voters for the end of FOM will never go. The option now is stay in Spain or lose the rights to live in the one final country out of the UK (and Ireland, for the free travel area) left after Brexit. It's not just myself I feel sorry for. It's all the people in the UK who are losing their opportunity to find opportunities elsewhere. I tell you what it's **** depressing seeing the Spanish, the French, the Polish, the Italians, the Belgians, the Dutch, the Irish that I know and work with in Spain continuing to live carefree, knowing the opportunities they have over us from the UK. Some of these same Europeans have have recently lived in Paris for a while—others Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin, Palermo, Rome, Venice, Lisbon, Warsaw. Some have come and gone and come back again through jobs. We had that too. What country has ever removed so many rights from their own citizens? Usually this kind of thing happens when there's some kind of oppression going on...like against the Africans in aparteid South Africa.
I still haven't heard a good argument for it happening either. I just had a good chat with my Brexit mum today. No surprise she still doesn't have a clue about the EU.
Edit. Presumably you asked that question to make yourself feel better. 'Oh nobody really wants freedom of movement, so no trouble to our conscience.' I know plenty of British people who have taken advantage of it. It opens your eyes a bit getting out of the UK too.

Did the ref give man u a free penalty tonight? Are Southampton also an established premier League team with years of investment?
Dammit. I forgot, you literally only care about moaning about the same thing in every post.

If the snake can play for Man City then Jack will stroll into that team and make a huge difference. Worlds apart.
I've said before, put him with better players in a better team and he will shine even more. He'll have more time on the ball and he'll have more passing options than he has currently.
If he's going to go i'd much rather he went to Man City. Pep will improve him no ends.
If he goes to Man City I hope he does like Benteke did on Sunday and secretly miss all his chances on purpose because he still loves us really.

Can anyone explain how Hause went from 5th choice centre back to starting every one of our crucial run in games despite being horrendously out of his depth in the majority of his appearances?
What is the thinking? Purely his ability to win headers in the opposition box?
He's played well except for two dodgy passes. He wins a lot in the air. I think he's OK.

When he scored two, I said I'd change my name to Trezeguet too if he got a hat trick. I was OKish with that miss.

His Genk show reel is pretty good. He might be struggling with adapting/getting up to speed. Benteke was strong and physical and made for the Prem when he came (Benteke being a good comparison as they came from the same team). Samatta is a different kind of player entirely. I've never been impressed tbh, but giving him a positive spin and a chance in the future. I would 100% play Davis ahead of him against Everton/Arsenal/West Ham though.

Got to go. Got to.
This seems not to fit in with any of the facts. Except maybe Elmo playing. And to be fair to Konsa, he could have had a few assists in the last few games if our strikers could header at the goal.

Didn't see anything there to be honest. Think we'd look more dangerous with Anwar on the left.
He got an assist and put in some dangerous crosses. He was also close to scoring. He got an assist at Newcastle too—although I don't remember much about that as I'd had a few by then.
I'm not his biggest fan and see his limitations, but he does often have a hand in us scoring.

Man City free to play in the CL. The 2 year ban has been cancelled.
Their fine is also reduced from £30m to £10m
Oh joy!
Edit: Let's see if this was one of the conditions for them agreeing to allow the Saudis to buy Newcastle.
Yeah I know it was a UEFA ban but these things tie together in the super corrupted world of football.
It's a horrendous bullshit decision.
