  1. His distribution is terrible totally jeopardises the way Unai wants and expects the team to play, as a shot stopper he’s ok it’s the other parts of his game that makes him a square peg in a round hole as far as this team is concerned.

Real area for concern but such a hard position to fill adequately.

World class movement though, there was just no other player on his wavelength.

If only we’d built a team around him with like minded players!

  3. Like DL he's been a slow burner for us. This could be the season he really clicks and with better players ahead of him this season more of those passes will have someone on the receiving end converting them, can feel a big season ahead for him.

sky saying were after alex oxel chamberlin

Just seen that and it's a strange link only possible reason would be his European experience, surely he'll be looking for a pay day and will end up in the MLS or kingdom!

I don't. This role isn't for him - he needs to be a wing back. I think an upgrade is a big priority, otherwise he'll stick out as the weak link.

No way it's a big priority? Just don't see it, no real links or even speculation. If Unai was looking to tighten things up defensively we'd be seeing experimenation in that position and we're simply not.

  6. I think he'll be our starting RB next season not seen any indications that won't be the case and we have cover already in the squad, certainly not a priority unless he is sold.

In a perfect world yes. But maybe he is impressed wirh Cam Aaron and Jaden and wants to give them a shot. Currently we can cover the following postions with what we have

    Striker     Ollie Cam Duran Diaby

Left Wing   JJ  Diaby Bailey AJ  Jaden Coutinho

Right wing  Diaby Bailey McGinn Jaden AJ

No 10  Buendia Tielemans Coutho  McGinn Jaden AJ

I agree i would like another high quality player up front. BUT we are stronger there than i realised, albeit with lots of players with potential.

Jaden and AJ aren’t get anywhere near the first team come the start of the season.

I suspect pretty soon we will be linked to a No.10 type, maybe one that hasn't been talked about yet or hardly, and then within a week we will sign that player, as happened with Diaby and Tielemans, and pretty much Pau, although that one took a little longer as he was en su luna de miel with his wife Paula.

Also I notice we've been linked to a lot of attacking midfielders of a similar profile, Xavi Simons, Arda Guler, De Ketelaere, and today Thiago Almada, and previously there had been Kang-in, so maybe a young attacking playmaker midfielder is something we're looking at

I doubt that, we are pretty well stacked for that 10 role with Emi B, Coutinho and even McGinn able to slot in it's not a high priority, once we finally get Diaby signed I think we'll see us chasing a winger likely another drawn out chase.

    Don’t think this happened.

Certainly did, widely reported on the salary tracking websites as above. There were a couple of very questionable contracts offered around then with the likes of Konsa who performed/has performed well kept on lower salaries.

This window is nuts. Wouldn’t be surprised if we decided not to bother dipping in again because of how insane it is.

The higher profile/better we do the more bonkers the transfer windows will be, comes with the territory!
