Some of the things he's done in clips I'm not sure anyone in our squad could replicate. L Coutinho was better once but it'll take a good lump of fortune to get that player back. We are a very organised and structured and well oiled machine and you need to stick a maverick in those kind of teams to really throw the opposition off kilter and force mistakes. 

He's the first signing I can remember where our social media feeds are flooded with fans saying "don't buy him we want to keep him" - this is about a guy they've had 6 months and he's spent some of that injured. 

I'm probably getting ahead of myself yes but I'm having a great time as a Villa fan right now. For every day I get to continue loving the direction our club is going in, I'll leave cynicism and doubt and all that out of it and greet this with the optimism and excitement I think it deserves.

Why do people continually post/think the owners have invested in Vitoria Guimaraes as some sort of feeder/development club for us? Amazes me!

As much as my heart says keep him he's one of our own and lets develop him some more and bring him into the team maybe after another loan, there is no clear pathway for him right now. So sell with clauses just makes sense.

It was I agree but I feel that was bit of an experimental side which is what pre season is all about right?

I feel he was bought for a reason and that's as a ball playing LCB, once Moreno is fit I don't see us messing to much with that left side it'll be Torres and Moreno with Digne coming on to close games off when we are winning,  I can see the RB position changing depending on the opposition with Ezri coming in for Cash at times.

Last season we had a really good defense this season we could get close to having the best in the league imo!

Once moreno is fit I reckon you are right, until then Digne will be LB.

As good as Mings and Konsa were as a CB pairing last season and they were outstanding Torres wasn't signed to warm the bench I'd be amazed if he didn't start as the left CB against Newcastle.

Agree about the Manchester teams not so sure about Arsenal though I'm not convinced with Arteta I think he could get found out this season.

Agree about Spurs and Brighton but Liverpool will be top 4 this season.

My initial relegation picks, based on how they have strengthened (or not) would be Burnley, Luton and (Sorry Ash) Everton.

Side note- I'd love to know what proportion of signings in the top european leagues these days have the surname Traore. I reckon it must be at least 5%.

Kompany had Burnley playing attractive football last season but he just doesn't have the personnel to do that in this league they'll get some proper batterings, I can see him sacked by Christmas.

I fancy forest to be in a relegation battle if they end up losing a couple of key players, I pray that Everton go down they deserve to the way they have been run the last few years.

I still have a horrible feeling we might see a shock exit!
