  1. Blues nearly score again. Marshall with his third great stop. Caleb now form injured.
  2. Looked poor since their 2nd. Should be level. We’re giving the ball away and lost our movement
  3. Trez off. Didn’t catch who came on.
  4. 3:2 lindly error tackled off the ball as last man
  5. Man U away in round three! there’s a shocker
  6. Davis goal. Put through by Caleb. Hit through gk legs
  7. 2:1 ht. ireogubum, Caleb and thorndike head and shoulders the best of ours. Think we’ll pull away 4/5 in the end
  8. Barber off injured. Pierre on. Shame barbers looked good.
  9. Interesting….the two worst players on the pitch in terms of touch movement, keeping the ball etc are the two first teamers. Trez has his reasons and hope he comes back from injury, but so far all the areas that were weak and strong still are. Davis looks out of his depth at this level.
  10. Ireogubum nearly booked for kicking ball away. Thankfully not.
  11. Villa pen.gk gave hall away. Played into davis. Gk took him down. Trez taken and scored.
  12. Blues equaliser- sloppy full back play. Should have just spanked it clear. Nice pull back and free in the 6yd box. Jobe Bellingham involved.
  13. Their right full back Williams looks good. Bit of pace and played some passes that have been too good for his teammates. Might be worth picking up off them. If only to vary who we steal young talent from
  14. Thorndike playing central mid. Some nice touches. He’s got time and poise. I like him a lot.
  15. Trezequet looking lively. Davis very slow and ponderous so far. Iroegubum looks class apart from both sides
  16. Good ridge tap in from blues mistake. Caleb assist. Villa 1:0
  17. Silva was McGinn’s man and he let him run off the back. He was 10metres away before McGinn realised he’d gone. Three on three turned into 2 on Konsa. As mings pushed onto other before realising he had to drop, because McGinn wasn’t tracking his runner. If you don’t track runners against city you’re dead as they move and move and move. We can’t afford lapses in concentration like this, but it had nothing to do with mings positioning as far as I can see it.
  18. Why are things always mings’ fault according to some. mcginn has one job in that move. Track your man. He leaves him to run off his back, leaving konsa 1:2. How the hell is that mings’ at fault? Lazy, lazy basics and that’s the key difference in the sides. Basic touch, basic decisions, basic marking, basic charging down of shots. They do all of them well, all the time. We can’t do any of them when under pressure.
  19. Made it back. Agree with outbyeaster’s summary. Should have been ours with a simpler approach in their box. Deserved to win the game and had the whole second half. Was looking forward to seeing Archer for 90mins live match and he was the only one I’m coming away from feeling a bit meh. The rest all look like they will have a career to me. Maybe not with us…but you never know. Not sure about archer, there’s something there, maybe just an off night. The middle of the park was ours, dominated two ex prem starters…the two of them should be very proud of their display
  20. Only one team in second half. Playing some lovely stuff at times. Tim I and archer nearly scored. Just a matter or time
  21. Got the ball and the ref was about 5 yards away. Very odd…but it was clumsy. Poor position from zych for goal. Great finish from thorndike for our goal. We look class when we move the ball, too often caught in possession wanting an extra touch or time. Caleb looks great. Real physical presence and he moves very well. PBJ looks like he’s trying a bit too hard. Impressed with feeney he’s got a future I think. Archer looked a bit lightweight up against two. I think we’ll come into this, we’ve got more talent than them and there’re not physically that dominant. 3:2 to villa second half.
  22. Much nearer for me. Only an hour from chelmford. I was thinking of the MK match in my head, when imagining how many would be here!
  23. Well psyched for the valley tonight. We’ve sold 200 tickets!? I was convinced it would sell out and booked my tickets from the club last week. Not quite. Is it weird that I’m much more up for his than city tomorrow??
  24. From the Last two games, I’d love us to sign bassuma, lampty. Both significant upgrades on what we have in those areas. But doubt we would get either in a Jan window. thought Gallagher looked class yesterday, but again not going to leave Chelsea in Jan. I can’t really see much coming in apart from left back competition until we’ve trimmed some central mid fat. Too many similar players competing for 1 slot as McGinn and Luiz seem nailed on starters when fit. Sanson, Ramsey, Chuck, nakamba all looking for the third slot is prob a bit too much depth of similar level players. (If we ever get to see how good sanson is…he should be the third starter I would have thought…)
