Not really, they’ll mostly cut and paste the old contract and change the clauses that they want to. No lawyer is going to dare re-draft a contract from scratch.

Yeah but, yeah but....new contracts tend to be extensions of old ones. Also I don’t believe players don’t speak to former managers if they get on well with them. All I’m saying is word gets around.

That’s fascinating.....the press talking about 33m E, us thinking £22m and the WB fans thinking they’d only get 15m E. Btw, if Raschica comes and works out I maybe just think WB will become my Bundesliga team. Hopefully that also means we get some more German Villans. its been a bit quiet on that front since Stefan Beinlich....

Apart from Savo, we’ve not had much luck with Eastern European players. Curcic, Balaban, Tonev.....but Raschica is proven and different class.

I’m assuming that John Percy tweeted about Ollie Watkins to Villa when mentioning the £18m release clause. Now im wondering whether he/The DT then denied the release clause bit because the ONLY way they would have known that is from DS? So, IF he does sign and it’s this ‘undisclosed fee’ BS then I reckon that £18m release clause was right. (Alternatively, this is my way of rationalising we can’t possibly spend the £25m on him Brentford are asking.......)

Exactly, Jack thinks he could influence the game more at AM than out on the left flank. If Jack believe that then I don’t think any of us on here know enough about football to be able to say he’s wrong.

I don’t either but still like the thought of a tall / imposing DCM but one who can play. Obviously Rodri is the gold standard but it’s why I mentioned Billing earlier. Sander Berge fits the brief too but we missed that one too.

The Scandinavian market has been overlooked over the years as the Spanish, Portuguese markets have become more popular. I agree that there are good players and value to be found there.

Genuine question here, if according to some posters on here the traditional enforcer type of DCM is outdated would those same posters think our MF would be overrun if our MF three were Luiz, Jack and SJM (Jack being more advanced Luiz and SJM more defensive)?
