Absolutely. I mean to compare Edouard to Kodjia is one thing. But to compare Celtic as effectively worse than Brentford is another thing. Personally I worry miles more about Watkins being the next Scott Hogan than I do Edouard.

On the Ramsdale transfer rumour, irrespective of what you think of him as a player has any ‘last minute’ hijacking of a transfer ever really worked out? I’m sure there must be but I really can’t remember the last one? Even more so when the player concerned has a connection with the club that want to re-sign him?

Yeah it’s possible to have different views on things and all that is hunky dory. The problem I would say is that you then use this brief and ill informed opinion of Edouard to have a debate about the merits of the SPL vs the Championship and throw out a comparison re Kodjia. if I were you I would ask myself the following questions: (A) Has anyone agreed with me that Edouard doesn’t have the pace for counter attacking football? and (B) Has anyone else agreed with me that Edouard is similar to Kodjia? Then think about whether all your bickering was really worth it.....

I think you also said Edouard wasn’t pacy enough for counter attacking football which was very odd given how quick Edouard is. But the most baffling thing though is you’ve formed this rigid view on Edouard, and the comparison to Kodjia when you openly admit you’ve seen very little of Edoaurd. Thats a real head scratcher.

Bang on. There’s been Moussa Dembele (Lyon), Kristoff Ajer is going to go for a packet, a certain Stylian Petrov, Mark Viduka and Henrik Larsson.

He looks quality but not sure we’ll spend the rumoured £25m. And he’d have to take SJM’s slot unless Jack stayed wide.

Kodjia also came from the PSG set up (And I don’t see how anyone can compare the work shy Kodjia with Edouard who generally puts a shift in).

Agree he is a much better player than Watkins, but it’ll be £25m-£30m.... not £20m unfortunately.

There’s Celtic, Rangers in the past, one or two others and then there is the rest of the SPL. Celtic would be good enough for the Prem over the years.....certainly as good as many Championship clubs that get promoted. So, yes.

The quote is there are no bad ideas only great ones that go horribly wrong lol im not saying it’s a great idea though, just something better than the U23s and something other clubs have pursued, albeit in different countries. They probably wouldn’t have done that on the whole if they could have bought in the England.

I agree lol. Different thread time. And you misread current lol. I meant current at the time they bought the feeder club. Ie any club who buys a feeder club needs to be in the Prem at that point. Maybe I could have clarified but most posts here on here are a little ambiguous. And no, no forced sales....all market forces. I don’t care what the other fans think once they become a feeder club. How would the fans of Vitoria S.C. feel if Sawiris bought them as a feeder club? Would you have a different opinion then?

Can’t see it unless we’ve got £200m to spend. Besides unless Ramsdale was p*ssed off at getting sold by Sheff Utd 2 years back, they’ll be favourites to sign him. Either way, ST link and GK link means things heating up now managers and players are back from their hols.

I get it you don’t like the feeder club idea but if you say I’m not using logic then I’d love to hear your thoughts about how it might work.

Yeah, Edouard or Tammy. I’m naturally going to say Tammy but I think Edouard is class. Look at how hard he works at Celtic with his movement....top class. Would love to see that at Villa.

Yes. I think that should be the rule for any club that owns a feeder club. Obviously if the feeder club gets relegated from League 2 then the parent club could get relegated to League 1 or 2 etc. I mean, happy to disagree but HTF would a feeder club relationship If it’s not what Im saying? Should the feeder club be in the same league as the parent club?? Could the feeder club get promoted over the parent club?? Err......no.

No, my logic is not feeder clubs in the Championship. League 1 or 2 for feeder clubs is fine. And hey the rule should be clear, any CURRENT Prem club who wants to buy a feeder club can never be relegated to League 1 and their feeder club can never be promoted to the Championship. Simples.

Well if Dr Broke had still been in charge then yeah maybe we would have been. But we’re not, and if our owners fancied buying Walsall as a B team then why not? I really don’t see the problem. Jack went to Notts County back in 2013, Jacob Ramsey went to Doncaster Rovers but what’s the difference between that and Walsall being a feeder club? Our last two or three ‘wonderkids’Hepburn Murphy, Green and O’Hare could all have done with being sent out on loan when they were 18/19, and that would have been so much easier with a feeder club.

But it is though, because I’m a fan of Villa and it makes complete sense for Prem league clubs to have B teams. And why not? If it prevents teams like Bury going into administration that’s a good thing imo. and let’s remember in Spain they allow B teams in their Championship. We’re talking about League 1/2...and it may actually increase interest in those leagues.

Also, On a separate note I was really surprised Odutayo got released. Brilliant at U18 but didn’t translate that form to the U23s?
