General, I'm not sure if this suggestion has been put forward or not. If, as it seems, the council are going to take a hard line on this nonsense then people in the Holte need to be informed via the programme and potentially a leaflet before a match. The stewards will fight a losing battle trying to make the Holte sit down during matches because people will just see them as busy bodies and jobsworths. However, some literature explaining that this it is NOT Aston Villa's driving this issue but the councils and that Villa stand to lose a lot of money in unsold seats / fines if it continues may have more of an effect. We don't want to see gaping holes in the Holte. A sorry state of affairs and utterly ridiculous; football will have no atmosphere before long. Regards Nick

Koumas would be very dissapointing as a 'main' signing, i.e. one who MON thinks will go straight into the first 11. I too would like a signal of intent from Villa, just hope it comes soon.

My feeling on this is that there are three players that are relatively similar in terms of ability. Parker and NRC have each had the odd stunning season and since gone off the boil, albeit in NRC's case there have been mitigating circumstances, having hate male from your own fans will piss you off, don't care who you are. Parker had one sensational season at Charlton, went to Chelsea did **** all, then to Newcastle and didn't do much there either. He's seen the dollar signs and bright lights of London at West Ham - they're welcome to him. Barton is a an absolute lunatic, a good player yes and would be a bit cheaper, but we no longer have to worry about the odd two million quid here or there. Getting NRC away from London and in with MON will IMO be the making of him, I think he could be excellent for us.

Defoe over Bellamy for me, taking into account what it appears both will cost.

I would be happy with NRC, a decent player who, needs to change clubs. England U21 captain, wanted last summer by Arsenal and Man U, he WILL flourish under MON no question. Agree he is not Mr Creative, but he will get up and down all day, great engine and a fine prospect. Is 8m too much? Maybe. Do we have to worry about that anymore? Nope.

I'm worried, and perhaps worse embarrased at the prospect of Bramble turning up, he is a laughing stock.

Bouma actually was a good player prior to us buying him, Bramble patently isn't.

Titus Bramble, now that is the scariest and most underwhelming suggestion so far. Must admit, I agree with the selection of top players and a few squad fillers, I just hope the top players come first!! Greedy i guess!

Great article. I've always liked Lee, he's always had a bit of the tragic hero about him. Threatened to be so good so often, but ended up being consistently reasonable. Better for Villa that he's nowhere near the club, but a Villa fan no doubt, and I wish him the best of luck.
