Keepers rarely line up centrally on free kicks. It’s why you have a wall.

You have to trust that the wall will protect that side of the goal and you guard the other side of the goal.

A more central position probably would have given him a better chance of saving it, but then the other side of his goal is completely exposed. At this level a player could just drill the ball into the top corner. He also runs the risk of being completely unsighted because he’d be stood behind his own wall.

You have to accept that if someone puts it in the postage stamp then they’re going to score. It’s a percentage game

Having occasionally played in goal for our cobbled together indoor 5 a side team in a lunchtime league at the Villa Leisure centre, many years ago, I feel qualified enough to completely agree with you on this!

The simple non arguable fact is that we were once the champions of Europe, they have changed the competition’s name and format but thevaim is still the same, which is to be crowned the champions of Europe, just as winning the PL still makes you the champions of England the same as it did in 1981. UTV!!!!!

If there’s anything that stands out that’s different, it’s thst in 1982 to qualify for the premier competition in Europe you had to be the champions of your own country, whereas now to qualify for wheat is ironically called the Champions League you just have to have done quite well either in the league or won a lesser European competition but not actually be Champions of your own country. I’m not particularly critical of how the qualification is done, as I’ve always thought that it was harder to win the UEFA cup against a range of quality teams throughout Europe rather than just the best team in a wide range of teams from countries who play in leagues of varying quality. It’s all about the dosh of course! Cynical me??

But it would be our first CL campaign. Yes it's the same competition, but the CL era, like the Premier League era, was a new chapter in football and whether we like it or not the exposure that came with it was a huge change.

But either way, phrase it as "our first european cup campaign for 42 years" if you like. The sentiment in my post is the same

I was exactly the same. I think it was just a personal work out though.

Strange addition to the squad I think. It would have worried me playing him.

A bit more recovery time won’t do him any harm. We train and assess players with an army of coaches and physcios at BMH, when they’re fit enough to play then they move on to Villa Park or some less hallowed patch of grass to help the team win games.

Think that's some clever PR from sha fans, even The Wood is more or less 50/50 in numbers and that's supposed to be a sha hotbed , it ain't.

Now there’s a thing, managing to get SHA and clever into the same sentence, I feel I should dof my cap in your direction at least!!🤣

It should be in the running for goal of the season but what’s the betting that Lineacre and his muppet pals don’t even put it up for goal of the month!

Where has this link come from? I saw something in the Manchester Evening News but they were quoting Football Insider as their source who we know are garbage.  Have I missed a credible link of any sort with City?

The difference between our useless local rag and everyone else’s is shocking we need to sort the Brum Mail out once and for all, they either get on board or do one and we cut them adrift totally shitty Cockney owned rag. Mr Grandad on my Mom’s side worked for them and he’d turn in his grave to see what they’ve become, low life scummy rag. My Grandad was the first man to do colour prints back a long time ago.

He has form in doing bad things with 16 year old girls?! I did not know this.

To be fair to Gabby I think he prefers them a bit older!

Jesus Christ 😂😂😂 I shat myself.

In all honesty a serious injury to a bid player would badly dent our chances. In 1981 we famously only used 13 players and had no real cup runs to distract us so we need to remain fairly injury free, which despite the media noise around other club’s injury problems we haven’t been totally free of injuries up to now, yes it could be worse but Emi and Tyrone would be a big miss for most teams. If it was Liverpool the PL would have given them the points they took off Everton!

Not in this game we wasn't, perhaps your getting mixed up with Tuesdays game.... or using this game to poke fun at the comments made about Tuesdays game, with a "told you so"

In some aspects of the game.....all was not necessarily corrected and we wasn't challenged in those same aspects yesterday, in the way Newcastle did....The overtures of both games was different, hence the performances and results were different.

So lets enjoy the win and the performance, but not get carried away.

If you are suggesting (even tongue in cheek) that some folk was wrong in their assessment of that game, I think you are wrong.....some of the comments on tuesday, was justified.

They found a way, to administer, that performance and result, which was in stark contrast to the game on Tuesday.....so good on the boys for that.....but we fans can only say, what we see.

Or what some think they’ve seen or want to see to justify an opinion they already have regardless of facts perceived or otherwise. We’ve all done it from time to time, sometimes without justification or even cause but you know what humans are like. Over exposure to thinking can sometimes lead to problems and create problems that may not really exist!

Should have took a cheeky dink tee up on his right foot before volleying it in on his left followed by sprinting the length of the pitch and knee sliding in front of emi with a message under his shirt of "Messi who"

But to be fair to him he's saving that for man utd cos he already knows how much we hate them words removed

A sentiment thst I’m pretty sure he understands and shares while heartedly!!
