  1. Anybody at the game reading this, get a creative chant of “walk back to Liverpool” going to the tune of you’ll never walk alone please. Might as well completely rip the piss out of him now.

    9 games doesn't either.

Look, you could be right, he has to go, but they said that about Arteta too......and lets not come out with the bollox, that its different, its not.....them fans wanted him out, more than we want SG out.

Fortunes, do not always relate to the work being done, in training.....Not when, you want it to, fortunes changing can be adhoc.

We played some good stuff on Sunday.....we also made some poor decisions, ( McGinn trying to fire throught the keeper, when Ings was ready for a tap in) and we also made some stupid rickets....Mings and Martinez....2 of our most trusted servants.

I don't think, there is enough evidence, thats my point......I think there is enough conjecture, or supposition, but thats all......That is not the same as saying everything is ok, because its not.

I know that 9 games doesn’t represent a season, but to be told that failure to meet the continuous progression goal of the club was the reason that Dean was (rightly) dismissed, but then to keep Gerrard is wrong. He’s here nearly a year now and we have in no way progressed. What’s the basis for keeping him? Fleeting gallant defeats against the top 6? We had more success against the top 6 with Dean at the helm.

There are very clear differences between him and Arteta. I’ve laid them out before, but essentially Arteta sees it as his job to create scenarios where goalscoring chances are created. Based on Gerrard‘s comments and the fact that he only changes his front 3 from game to game, it’s clear to me that he sees it as the players‘ responsibility. How many times have we heard “we were just missing that creative spark” or “we just couldn’t find a way through” or my personal favourite (I think he only said it once though) “we were just throwing subs at it at the end in order to create something”.

I think that there is enough evidence to say at the moment he’s not good enough. I’m not going to stubbornly stick to this opinion if he turns it around and I was never against him no matter what from the start. If this was our first season up from the championship and we were performing like this I’d be delighted. It’s not and we’ve not had continuous progression for about a season and a half now. It’s time to give a manager/head coach who is proven at a higher level than 16th in the PL the job, provided we can get one.

Potter makes a change, Gerrard no idea how to counter. Buendia on at 70 all standard basic stuff out the coaching book.

I'm confident he'll be gone latest Tuesday, Purslow looks like he has a job to do!

I do hope that you’re right.

but we haven't ended the season yet......we are 9 games in.

My point was, one game doesn’t make a season. There’s more than enough evidence that suggests Gerrard is just not good enough. Maybe he will be but right now he’s not.

Therefore, I think he should just be relieved of his duties.

    Reasonable rendition Pete.

but there wasn't that much wrong when he pitched himself against Pep.

The low block opposition has been an achilles heel for us, for some time, way before SG.....and yes, we can't keep harping on about what was before, he has to fix things.

Like everyone else, I am tired, at swearing at the TV and pin pointing to my wife, why something simple is not executed and I do see why folk, question the Coaching.....but I say again, unless we see them in training, we are speculating.

I see during a game, questionable performances, things that I would expect a pro footballer with aspirations of international call up, would be on top of, They can't all be lead by the hand, or hide behind the coach.

I am not sure, where the club are with his job, I would suspect, my claims of relegation or the fans in the stadium turning, may prompt a rethink.

I am not suggesting for one minute Pete, that he is teflon, and neither is he, he accepts the criticism.....but the club took a gamble on his winning mentality, as I have....and he hasn't, so far been able to instill it in his players with any consistency.

I accept, being a winner, and getting someone else to be one, is a whole lot trickier.....maybe, I was hoping for too much too, like them.

There was also nothing wrong when Daniel Farke pitched himself against Pep in September 2019. Norwich won 3-2. Where did Norwich end the 19/20 season?

If you honestly think Purslow is going to a fan engagement event and publicly confirming plans to sack Gerrard I have a bridge to sell you.

Just out of interest, from where to where?

Now somebody has just told me that you can'yt judge Emery at Arse on his signings because Edu made them, so how can you blame Gerrard for not signing players.

The implications were that he wanted to sign Bissouma, never going to happen unfortunately, and Sarr, who didn't sign for whatever reason. They both would have dramatically improved the team.

Carry on rating Watkins, and Ings, thats fine, thats your opinion, i don't . We are allowed to have different views

Well, I suppose Emery has a body of work behind him like never losing a semi final of a competition up until last season’s CL where he brought Villareal (a team who shouldn’t be there) to the semi final. That was also in addition to impressive spells in charge of a number of clubs prior to that.

Gerrard has well, none of that. A league win in Scotland and his time here. I know who I’d rather here.

  8. Just get rid of him. He’s just not good enough. He might well turn out to be (I highly doubt it), but for the stated goals of the club, he’s just not good enough at this moment. It was a mistake hiring him. Sometimes it’s better to admit that you f***ed up.

I think it’s going to take a bit longer though barring a few hammerings.

Are the FIA still blaming Gasly for the tractor incident, for driving too quickly under a red flag?

Wait until they find out that he has a secret bellybutton piercing.

Interesting to see what Williams do now. Will they bring in Sargeant or give Mick a lifeline.

According to the German papers yesterday, he’s getting a Haas contract extension. It’s going to be announced at the US GP in 2 weeks.

I'm reading that he told the FCG that the 5 year plan, being about more than just performances on the field and league position, is generally on-target.

Can somebody remind him we're a football club?

Professional football clubs ceased to be “football clubs” a long time ago. It’s all business now. Continuous growth, profit/loss, engagement with stakeholders and other corporate waffle. Results on a football pitch are just a part of it these days.
