If Emi is sold, with or without you mate I think we should get in Bono. Sure would make it a beautiful day at VP, would be a magnificent signing and wouldn't surprise me as we know Lange works in Mysterious Ways.

    Get out!

  2. Meh, the France players were singing about Messi being pocketed by Kante in the last World Cup either after winning the thing or knocking them out. Maybe even both.

The Argentina players are doing the same now with Mbappé. I don’t see the big deal.

Tbh, he is. This is the guy who loses his shit to Van Gaal for having the temerity to say he thinks his team can beat Argentina.

Now he's parading around taking the piss out of a guy who put a hattrick past him. Good keeper. Total prick.

    4 goals including the shootout.

His agent talking shit to the press dont help things. Welcoming bids.

When do these idiot agents realise that we hold the power he has a massive long contract so if we say he isnt going nowhere he isnt

Yet when a player wants a move then it invariably happens, save for a few exceptions. We have no idea what is in the contract. It could just as easily have a release clause and he could be off for 60 million or so. Nobody knows so declarations that the club hold all the power could turn out to be wrong.

There might be no release clause and Emi might still push for a move (don’t think that he will). Nobody here knows.

Says a lot about a person that - when faced with all that's wrong with modern football - this is the "new law" they'd advocate for.

Says more about people who think that he means it sincerely IMO.

    It’s obviously a joke.

He played 4 football matches for Poland early in a football season. He'll be fine to get straight back into training. We don't have a competitive football game for almost 3 weeks

You’re right. Flog him until he drops.

I was joking but I think it was Guardian did study years ago and no paper had more than mid 40% success rate and some were in the 20% range. Add in all the click bait internet sites now...

Do you honestly believe that? He wasnt great even before the injury. For a big guy he looked so weak and was as much of a menacing presence as ant and dec.

The injury didnt help but i thought he looked pretty poor most games

Says a lot about your taste in tv shows if you don’t find Ant and Dec a menacing presence.

Crystal Palace fans don't watch mings but they still know he's shit and guehi is better

Tbf, they see him twice a season and their overwhelming opinion is probably, why is this bloke so obsessed with Zaha?

I agree with this. Mac Allister pushes him completely from behind to send Luiz off balance.

    Ref was so shit yesterday.

It’s the directive from the league to the refs. Stuff like that although technically a foul will not be given. “Let it flow”. The ref is only doing what he is told.

That still makes no sense. If he was that highly rated, surely another club would’ve gone  in for him too and raised his price. You expect me to believe that their owners decided to just sell him to the first bidder at a massive cut price? That other clubs who apparently highly rated him too never considered putting in a higher bid for him?

I know of this argument but it just doesn’t pass the smell test if you took 2 seconds to think about it.

I don’t expect you to believe anything, but to just dismiss the argument that the club were desperate for cash out of hand is also just deliberate ignorance of a factor in why he was so cheap. I mean according to Purslow we were quoted around £30 million in the window before. Transfermarkt (I know it’s not terribly accurate) had him down as being worth €28 million at his highest rated.

I’m not saying that his club sold him to the first bidder, maybe we were just the club that offered the most money upfront. Maybe it was the best deal for Marseille before their club went bust and they couldn’t afford to wait for an improved bid from another club. The fact of the matter is that we don’t know, yet you insist the fact that we were buying from a club in dire straits financially has nothing to do with the price we paid. I think that anybody who understands how bargaining positions work know that it played a big part.

We wouldn’t have gotten him as cheaply as we did if he really rated that highly.

And also mainly because of the fact that the French league apart from PSG went bust and we’re desperate for money during covid.

I've watch the incidents with March loads of times now, and I genuinely don't understand why people are saying it was obviously a penalty? March didn't even win the ball, and there was clearly no malicious intent.

Also, what was Digne supposed to do there instead? Nothing?

It could have went either way IMO. It’s not an obvious penalty. March comes in, doesn’t really win the ball, gets kicked but Digne also makes minimal ball contact.

Digne should be more aware of what’s going on around him though. That was the bigger issue, not the contact. I think if March flicks the ball away and Digne boots him like he did then fine it’s a penalty. It reminds me a bit of that Nani incident years back in the CL, obviously not to the same extent. He only has eyes for the ball, jumps to control it in the air and ends up kung-fu kicking the opposition player in the chest. No intent but it was a red card.

I think the decision was correct in the end. However, I can also see why Brighton fans might be annoyed though.
