So one of the best teams in the world with the best striker in the world couldn’t beat a team with a pub player and a pensioner in defence? Yeah right.
The agenda against Mings is downright weird. He’s our best defender and has given us great service.

Rolled back the years with that performance. Never put a foot wrong.

I was there watching the game, and he was dismal. Caughtin no man's land time and time again, and forever giving the ball away. Watch the goal again on Sky or BT, he was goal side of Haaland, then just leaves him alone, giving the City player a simple tap in for the first goal. He was dreadful all night.
Is that you Stevie?

Outstanding today. Must be a nightmare to defend against when he’s on this form.

This is like the last days of Bruce, the same taint, the same beleaguered players, the same lack of expectations. It took the fans to ensure the final push happened, it needs to happen again for the sake of these players, the team and the club.
Someone hurling a cabbage at the dugout should do the trick.

Mings hung out to dry again:
”The two goals we conceded - and a lot of goals we have conceded - have been down to individuals." He does not name names in this instance but perhaps he does not have to.
"Showing someone the wrong way rather than on their weaker side." It is easy to conclude that this is a reference to the team's erstwhile captain Tyrone Mings allowing Bukayo Saka to cut inside on his favoured left foot and cross the ball for Gabriel Martinelli's winner.”
Completely overlooking the fact that we were completely outclassed in that game, and Arsenal should have been out of sight by half time. If you’re constantly under the cosh and played off the park, you’ll eventually concede - the law of averages says there will be a mistake when the opposition is in your penalty area for the 50th time in a game.
Until he takes personal responsibility for this shit show, nothing will change. In fact, it won’t even change then. The charlatan is out of his depth.

Gerrard currently on 3 points after 5 games with Man City for his 6th.
That's 8 points behind Dean Smith's start.
Man City is a must win game for Gerrard or he will be fired on Sunday/Monday. Good Luck Stevie.10-3 = 7 mate

We were great for a year and from that point onwards it's been a slow unravelling. He demands control and removed good club men from key positions, installing his own men and everything starts going to shit in those departments. He throws players under the bus left right and centre.
We've done well thanks to individual brilliance from players like Maddison, Tielemans and Vardy and not his tactical ability. The football, outside of the first year has been utterly woeful.
I hope to god you want him, it will save us £20m.
Yeah I’ve always thought Rodgers was a shite manager

I would start Young on Saturday. Or maybe Chambers.
We have 2 other dedicated right-backs.
Oh, hang on a minute…

Whilst I want to believe we’re identifying and speaking with potential replacements for Gerrard, I can’t help but think he’ll be given a bit more time. Even though it’s apparent that things won’t improve.
Please NSWE, give me some optimism, let me look forward to Saturdays again, instead of that feeling of impending doom.

Such is my disillusionment with Gerrard right now, I’d even take Steve Cotterill as our next manager.

He wouldn’t be my first choice but he’d be x10 better than Gerrard.
Hed get off to a good start, probably have a few good seasons and then would go stale like he’s currently doing at Leicester.
I think this is the cycle for most managerial reigns to be fair - not many can maintain the momentum year in, year out. Best to think of it in terms of a similar period to typical player contracts, 3 to 5 years being a reasonable period of tenure.

Poch with no compensation to pay is surely a really attractive proposition for the club right now. I do hope he’s a serious consideration?
Absolutely, and you’d imagine he’s not going to stay available for long. Not saying he’d necessarily be interested in us, but opportunities like this don’t come along too often. We should be doing whatever it takes to convince him. It will cost, for sure, but the current path of self-destruction will also prove extremely costly unless drastic action is taken. Imagine what Poch could achieve with some of our under-achieving / under-utilised / misused South American talent?

Like us, their lineup and bench really don’t look too bad - should be capable of a mid-table finish at least. Like us, how have they managed to be so shite?
