Would be a massive coup. It's a lot of money but also a statement of intent. This could be our no.1 the next 5 years, hope we can get this done. Need someone for Sheffield for definite.

Think this from the Mail is a very lazy comparison. Tammy had 2 20+ goal seasons in the championship and was 3 years younger than Watkins. Watkins is at a Championship club (therefore shouldn't be commanding the same fees) whereas Tammy was at a Prem club with no plan to sell and under a transfer embargo. This comparison is ridiculous.

As with any transfer it is a gamble but the fee makes this a huge gamble. I've no doubt Watkins is good enough for this level from what I've seen, but will we get any kind of value for money from this deal?

I think it is a good show of intent that the money is there to spend to strengthen the squad, and I think with a new GK and probably a winger as well we are in a stronger position than last season. Very pleased to get this deal into the final stages and I'm just glad it's not my money they're spending.

I'm glad we're finally getting on with this but I've seen this banded about quite a lot and I don't agree with it. If you think there's even a possibility Watkins in 2 years at age 26/27 could be worth £60mill or more, you're living in la la land. 

Edit: I've noticed you're not explicitly saying that, but I have seen it thrown about quite a lot.
