Which would make me sick and everything people feared from the manager getting appointed
When we signed Coutinho = Gerrard masterclass
If we sign Ox = why did we appoint an ex liverpool captain

I do think that we’ll end up signing Oxlaide Chamberlain. Just a thought.
Agreed, although some think (including me) we need to improve the starting XI in the number 8 roles, McGinn and Ramsey are possibly Gerrards favourite players. More likely to go for a depth signing he trusts more than Sanson/Luiz

Yeah that annoying way grown adults make leaps of logic and form strong opinions based on random unrelated bits of information that don't necessarily mean anything.
And often to fit preconcieved ideas!
Tbh, for me, I think maybe Luiz is just lacking in some qualities needed to boss this level—number one being any real pace. He's a good player and has a lot to offer though.
My favourite one which happened yesterday, one very unreliable journalist (Ekroum or whatever he’s called) will say “Bale interested”. People then talk about it for a while, then you get people saying “lots of rumours going about”. No there’s not loads of rumours about. One dodgy guy who’s been wrong on multiple occasions just THIS transfer window wants some clicks now the whole fanbase thinks there’s solid links to Bale

what on earth is this based on?
i'm not his biggest fan but this is a ridiculous accusation based on absolutely nothing
Agreed. I don’t think it’s lack of effort. Issue with Luiz is he’s not good enough to be a 6 and he’s not mobile enough to be an 8 in our system. We’ve progressed and he really hasn’t. Somewhere where the intensity is slower like Serie A could suit him

Considering in Gerrards system the LCM and RCM tend to drop to cover the fullbacks and allow the fullbacks to bomb on, Zinchenko seems absolutely perfect for this role/system. Would be my number 1 target

I’d like to see him paired with Chambers. Looked so assured when he’s played. Massively underrated imo

@messi11 unfortunately you're the definition of the boy who cries wolf with your frequent 'welcome' posts!
He’s a wind up merchant. I do find him funny though on the rare occasion

I don't believe that for a second, would be an awful signing and would be 4th choice CB at best.
I know it’s a fake account that has said we’re in talks but no way he’s anywhere close to Chambers, Mings, Konsa or Carlos

Right, but those very same journalists have said on numerous occasions that we are after another CM, forward as well as a back up LB..
I could see us doing something in those other areas for sure, but someone like Ox and a Suarez type figure (don’t think it’ll be Suarez)

I think last season taught me (and I’m mostly talking about Grealish and the Sam Lee debacle) that our ITK’s know nothing and the only people who have a slight indication are the more trusted Journalists (Collomoose, Percy, Ramano etc.).
This year they seem to be suggesting the focus is now a back up left back. If that’s the case I think people are going to be disappointed because they are expecting a world class number 8 and striker. The management team seem happy with ings and Watkins as our strikers, McGinn is likely to be captain next year and Ramsay is one of Gerrards favourites. So I’m more inclined to trust the journalists on this one.
Although I’m massively in the camp of our starting XI is no where near good enough to compete with the likes of Arsenal/Spurs, I’m content that the signings we’ve made in the Gerrard era have been really good and we’re heading in the right direction. Think it’s gonna take time and patience.

Thoughts on Harry Winks? Tottenham will probably look to move him on now that they’ve got Bissouma.

Oh I agree mate, but will hold out hope and optimism, probably more than most, for obvious reasons. lol
He’s got potential for sure, the problem is whenever I’ve seen him get into a full sprint his hamstring goes

His reputation wasn't built on YouTube though... just want to point that out.
I know it was a joke. He’s honestly been so disappointing, he’s really fallen off. Don’t really see a way back for him. It’s not just bad form either, our other forwards (Buendia, Coutinho) are light years ahead of him.

Huh, reports yesterday said he wasn't leaving Villa...
Anyhow, not too fussed about this.
Came from Ashley Preece and the BMail boys. I kinda glad it’s at least shed light on what we already knew that they don’t have a clue what’s going on inside the club

I’d sell most of whom we can get a decent fee for. I have upmost confidence in who the team manage to bring in

Think we’ve have been 9th in the 26 games since Gerrard’s took over. Not a million miles off

I think Tarkowski would improve us a bit but not enough and to move up 6-7 positions in the league next season to the positions we want to be in I think we need a significant improvement. Tarkowski would only be marginally better than what we have IMO and he's just been relegated with Burnley. I'm also not a fan of signing players that are getting on and have only ever played in a low block team.
Whether we could get Botman or Saliba (or someone of that quality) I don't know, but I'm not sure Tarkowski would be worth the extortionate wages to only bring incremental improvement to a side that needs to improve drastically next season. But I may be wrong on that.
We were only 7 points off 6 places ahead of us, so avoiding the horrendous start we had at the start of last season, I’d absolutely expect us to make up those 7 points without even buying anyone.

Reading between the lines I expect is to sign him and quite soon. People seem quick to forget this pattern of as soon as there’s contract negotiations for a player/player signing a new deal, there’s always a “x make late move for y”. It’s all about the agent trying to get the best deal. Could be wrong but this has happened a lot to Villa recently with Kamara (Athletico), Cash (Athletico), ward Prowse, Smith Rowe, Coutinho (Arsenal), Digne (Newcastle). Same things happening with Kalvin Phillips in my opinion he’ll sign a new deal with Leeds. No matter how many times it happens, people still seem to believe anything they see online

I feel as though with Ollie’s current mood and backlash he’s faced, if he does score he’ll probably shush our own fans
