  1. Good news on the upgraded Academy - it is finished to the tune of £14 m. Now for those of you who go watch the games, you have some carparking space ??

    North of the main complex

How does that actually work? Do they promote many to first team?

Brentfords B team dont play in a league - they play all sorts of other teams - some foreign

Would make more sense to scrap the U18 - scrapping the U23 would leave an awful lot of players with no games to play

This is a list of Brentford B team fixtures as an example

That’s because Wesley is better than Davis.

I think quite rightly that he thought he should perservere with Wes for perhaps longer than he might therwisae have done.

i noticed our u23s got battered 4-0 by Exeter u23.

Im not overly up to speed on the u23s and how it all works, in the sense that, do these results reflect that their u32s are actually better than ours, or are other u23 teams playing older/more senior, and sometimes the odd over 23 player?

how good is our u23 first team?

Do we think players like Searle, Bridge, Ramsey's etc actually have a reasonable chance of breaking thorugh in the next couple of years?

Do we have any u23 that really stand out? (Vassilev/Barry aside), i know the Ramsey brothers are meant to be very good, but are they actually that good?

You must remember that we have no youth player over 21 yrs of age - Jack Clarke is the oldest and he is 21 in 3 days. The average age of the side that played Exeter was 19 yr 4 months.

Dont shoot me but I hope he does well for them. Would be good for him, us and the lot down the road. I wont cut off my nose to spite my face.

    Good luck Scott.

That makes two of us  - hope he scores a lot. Not that we want him back - I just want him to have some success. There I've said it

Mid January signing, was probably 8th on the list of targets

He is probably going to be crap

Hark at Mr Know-it-all, posting from the suicide watch ward at Broadmoor. He is entitled to his opinion, but wonder what prompts him to get out of bed each morning.

Hopefully bollocks. Don't want Reina on huge wages when Nyland is playing well. It's possible we are looking at Reina and Suso meeting someone so Villa need striker. Suso meeting Milan reps. Villa signing Piatek. Made up rumour in a few easy steps

Depends if they have a buyer for Kalinic

My 'glass half full' approach to Benteke is, that when he played for us, he was the star and savior that kept us up. He had great support and that leads to confidence. Confidence is good for the head, and a good head is good for the game. Age and time aside, it could put him in a 'good place' and maybe we'll see something nice.

Exactly - but i just think he is not on our radar

    Yet.

  10. I am a stats nerd  - tro the extent I keep my own record of all PL games. I also rank each team on their home record and separately on their away record. This (and a spreadsheet) enables me to compile a "Strength of Schedule"  - much like the NFL. I appreciate that it is folly to rely too much on stats - but I will post this anyway - after tonight's matches

Hardest remaining Home schedule left: (Hardest first)

    1. Leicester

    2. Liverpool

    3. Brighton

    4. Villa

Easiest remaining Away Schedule (Easiest first)

    1. Tottenham

    2. Leicester

    3. Brighton

    4= Newcastle Palace Villa

One would normally expect an easy home schedule to go hand-in-hand with a hard away schedule (i.e. Leicester, Brighton & Villa in above lists)  (and vice versa)  - but at this stage, it is not looking good for Norwich

They have the hardest away schedule - but the 5th hardest home schedule. Similarly, Everton's home AND away schedules are in the top half for difficulty

All to play for !!!!!  *rubs hands*

  11. At this point in the season (and I know it's not half way yet)

We have played only 1 top half team at home
We have played only 1 bottom half team away

Only the current Top4 have scored more away goals than us  (Thank you Norwich)

  12. Sorry - but Man U are hardly a Top 6 club right  now.  The might be in the minds of SKY -  but their place has been taken by Leicester - and a point at VP next weekend will be more of an achievement than today. These comments are what pleases me - from Man U fans

Villa - look calm and relaxed and having a great time. Grealish tucked in on left wing and causing issues. A promoted team and there looks to be little technical difference between teams and they’re a cohesive unit.

Exactly, we are massively lucky to be level. I feel for villa to be honest who've been a joy to watch, unlike utd who are abysmal.
