Zlatan has yet to sign a new contract at Milan. Just saying...
I'm sure even he would struggle if his lines of supply are AEG and Trez!

This isnt me - but it might well have been me at my first game in '59 - sent down to safety right by the Witton End railings by my dad while he leant on the first rail. I remember being fascinated by all the layers of paint on the railings . I remember taking a few steps back when the players came close - like giants to a 10-yr old me, they were

I still see Rashica mentioned here - thought that was dead??

He's a well known Villa blogger - respected among his peers when he was blogging - working for the Mail won't do his rep @ny good.
Having read as many pages of this thread as my eyes can stand, , I think I can aggregate all the views as follows:
"We need about 10/11new players !!!"

He signed in 1968 only played for the central league team.
I know - I meant he never played in that half back line

but we did sign him, didn't we?
Yep - but that infamous line up never occurred. Saw hia amateur brother Hector play one game for the reserves once - far more skilfiul
Oscar died 2017 in Casablanca

Just listening to views on Buendia and he isnt rated as highly as I thought. I also thought he was a left sided player, hence the suggestion he could be a Grealish replacement. The consensus was that he has disappointed this season and his limitations exposed, and he is only 5’8”
Haven’t watched him closely this season but he was a star of Norwich’s promotion season (along with Pukki).
Any one seen enough of him for an opinion? Where would he fit in - competition fo the 3rd midfield berth with Hourihane? Winger competition? Starting 11 or squad player?
In the same graph that confirmed Grealish as 2nd most chances created, EB was 5th

interesting stats here:
for our current wage bill (65m), we have the 4th most efficient point to wage bill average.
Our point per million pounds spent on wages is 0.54.
Interesting for sure.
Amazing to see that Palace have double our wage bill, Everton nearly triple, Southampton almost double.
Now with our second season in the Prem secured, should allow us to increase our wages a fair bit, i remember Purslow saying due to FFP etc, it really limited our available wages due to only being in the Prem for 1 season. (now 2)
I saw a different version - the points are 2019/20 but the wage bills are 2018/19

Citing Wesley is a cheap shot. The same voices were condemning Luiz as a failure in March. David Platt was a slow burn.
So slow in fact that SGT worried whether he had overpaid for him

Dear God

He has signed a long term contract

I'm thinking about Grealish as well. If he's moving on, it makes sense this is the time to change manager as well IMO. How the hell do you adjust to losing a player that good? It's going to be very very tough. A new man can come in with fresh ideas and doesn't have it hanging over him.
I disagree - vehemently

D ont want to have to read all 1500 pages - can someone cfm what Jack is on perweek ??

The intent is to have both the U23 and U18 teams stocked with 16-18 yr olds.

We very rarely give young players chances, even Grealish was 18 when he made his debut with us
He was 18 when he was sent on his short term loan to County. When was the last time we loaned out anyone at 18 ? Hopefully - and I think the policy will be so - we will start to loan out players at that age

He has come along a lot but he’s a million miles away from Man City quality.
There’s only one player Pep will be buying from us this window, and it’s not Luiz
Trez?

Dubravka is better than Nyland or Reina, Lascelles is better than Hause or Konsa, Danny Rose is better than Targett or Taylor, Saint Maximin is better than ElGhazi or Trezeguet, Almiron is better than Samatta or Davis. Those are just off the top of my head. From the Villa squad I’d imagine only Grealish, Mings, and McGinn would improve the Newcastle starting 11. At least 5 of the Newcastle team could improve the Villa starting 11.
Almiron is a striker ??

Nce to see Celtic knocked out of the CL. Only as much as it might change the Edouard situation.
No offence to our Irish lads...
