No. Not when there are a host of other clubs who are in European comps who can have him. I heard Lyon are interested and Houllier is there.
well that's Lyon out of the equation as he fell out with houllier at Liverpool

Villa prepare Baros raid
Jul 20 2005
By Bill Howell, Evening Mail
VILLA boss David O'Leary is finally set to put his summer of interest in Liverpool striker Milan Baros into action.
The 23-year-old Czech international striker has been told by Rafael Benitez that he can look for a new club after less than impressive performances in the latter half of last season.
Baros was left out of the squad for last night's Champions League qualifier victory against TNS and afterwards Benitez confirmed Liverpool would not stand in his way if a firm bid was made.
The five-goal top scorer at Euro 2004 had set his heart on a move to Spain at the end of the season and turned down the opportunity of linking up with former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier at Lyon.
Villa kept their interest on the backburner but with Baros' dream move failing to materialise and with Peter Crouch sealing a £7million transfer to Anfield today, they suddenly believe they have a chance.
They are understood to be set to launch a £5million-£6million bid, money set aside initially for Craig Bellamy's transfer.
But Villa will face stiff competition from a host of European and Premiership clubs with Manchester City and Everton both rumoured to be keen.
Baros scored 13 goals in 45 appearances last season, including nine league goals in 25 games and played the first 85 minutes of the European Cup Final in Turkey against AC Milan.
And the move will cast doubts on Darius Vassell's long-term future. The England striker has just one year left on his deal but speculation linking him with an imminent move to Manchester City appears wide of the mark.
journalism must be so easy......................

Personally I feel Crouch will cost Benitez his job long term , but no more on the subject of the lanky shit one ..
Quite right too especially "no more on the subject of the lanky shit one" or this thread will be closed very quickly

i think he'd be a good signing. he won the golden boot at euro 2004!
with his head down running at defences style that worked in those games for that team.
I do think he would be a good signing - to supplement the ther four not in place of any of them
-
It depends how much we can get for him. Vass is one of a kind, and by that I mean he is a striker who can't score. They're useless in my book, I don't care how much "opening up defences" he does.
so that's one of kind with the same scoring ratio as a player people on here thought was the second coming until he signed for Blackburn
as for the "opening up defences" - like it or not he helped so much with getting JPA to 20+ goals that you do have to consider it.

Geek Wars is a great spectator sport :?
Ladies and Gentleman in the blue corner representing The Mod we have simon the limpid with his much smaller and far more geeky partners in crime IainG (the flower power - sorry ;-) ) and Le Lapin a recently trained individual with a penchant for strange hats.
whilst in the red corner representing the kingdom of geek are nickrogers - The Pilot and The-Rev a man so mysterious people do not believe he a train driver but some sort of Spook, working with the Secret Services.
Who will win ........
Let's get ready to rrrrrrrrrrrruuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmbbbbbbbbblllllllllleeeeeee

If we get him I think our first choice partnership will be Baros and Phillips.

Other - The one that came on my 'puter - Apple Safari v 2.0 is fine, now (Apple OS X Tiger).
I fetched the mozilla browser of the interweb because all my old e-mails were from using Netscape/Mozilla/Thunderbird on the old machine, and because my bank site won't let me look at it in safari, but will in mozilla. Haven't bothered with Firefox on the new machine.
I didnt think Villa fans were vain enough to own a mac!
not seen the Rogues Gallery pics of the ole fence sitter then?
The 2005 mullet ;-)

Would be interesting to have a VT get together, but I doubt it'll ever happen. It would be good to meet a few VT'ers on a get together, doubt it'll happen though.
you feeling a bit lonely mate
these sorts of things aren't difficult to organise y'know
quite simple: name a date. Name a time and venue. Invite loads of Vt'ers.
Result: one VT get together.
Voila 8)
suggestions:
Don't have it on a day it isn't raining to avoid dropouts from hangovers
Don't have it in a month where essential cleaning of domestic cooking utensils may happen
