Hmm let's dispel a couple of myths

Johnson played for them big deal - so have many other Villa players, therefore to use that as a reason is cutting off one's nose IMO

Journeyman - oft used on here and quite wrongly, he has played for two clubs total. Budgie was a journeyman, current equivalents are usually found in the lower leagues but for me a certain Robbie Keane fits the bill nicely

in a somewhat quiet time for Villa related things, bar a couple of friendlies and the ongoing Baros saga. Let's have a look back over the last few years and pick a team that you the message board members vote for.

Polls like this can fluctuate day by day.

On a day where our best/2nd best defender looks like missing the start of the season and we sell a player which leaves us with 3 strikers....people are likely to be looking bottom half.

If we sign Baros, then all of a sudden people will want to be voting that we finish in the top half.

Baros purely because he's a better finisher than Vassell (whose finishing is woeful in my opinion)

you see that's the thing I don't rate Baros' finishing any higher than Vass'

the scousers I know reckon he misses way way too many and his head down approach has cost them lots of other good chances being created too

can I predict this to be very close

as I see it there is very little between them

both have pace

both score goals

Baros possibly scores more 1 on 1's and goals generally

Vass is better team player, less head down and run, forgetting their are 9 other players to use

eh! I liked the guy, thought he found his level at Soton, will look out of place at Redscouse, and I wish him luck.
