    At present the police are collecting information. If a charge is laid - CPS must agree there is a case to answer - then his defence lawyers have the right to see all evidence against their client (including CCTV). In the trade it’s known as early exchange of information and must be completed in time for the defence to be mounted. Right now the defence may have seen things to assist in a decision but nothing of certainty.

    It seems I’ve not made things clear. The whole deal would depend upon what happens as a result of the Police investigation. No case to answer (all clear) means the deal goes ahead. If a charge is made and a court case pending then the deal is off. Precisely what he did, allegedly, is irrelevant.

    This depends upon how the deal is structured. If the deal stipulates the whole thing, payment of cash included, is dependent upon the outcome of the Police investigation then no problem. Certainly no one with any sense would pay out before the investigation is complete.

    I posted this some time ago. But the issue remains that we need a DM: Bissouma is very good in that position and we have the power to attract that level of player. Don’t forget Villa do not talk openly about a player registered with another club. This applied to Coutinho so will apply to others.

    Hang on people. It was SKY who first told us that Villa were interested in Bassouma. So do we believe it? They didn’t have a clue over Coutinho so why are they so believable now? Brighton have said no approach has been made for the player so I think even if we are interested we’re waiting to see the outcome of the Police investigation - can’t be long now.

    Yes he does but he appears to be on bail without restrictions - certainly been allowed to travel to Africa for the Nations Tournament - so I’m not sure how serious this case is.
