    Running

Yep im using it, you need the trainers that allow you to fit the gizmo into though. Very good bit of kit for £20 well worth it, if you like tracking your progress Is the sensor too big to just sneak under the inner sole (or whatever it is called in English ) of a non-Nike+ shoe? I saw you could buy some pouches to use on shoes that didn't have the little groove that fits the sensor. I would say the sensor is too big, just to slip under a regular insole, however if they sell insoles that have a cut out then maybe?? Just need to be careful your not altering the fit of the shoe?!

    Running

On the subject of Trainers, I got a new pair recently from Sutton Runner in Boldmere, been there for about 18 years and offers fantastic service. They videoed me running and told me that I run with my feet to the outside (apparently only 1% of people run this way, it's normally the inside) anyway a good shop will start you with a "neutral" pair of runners then recommend a few pairs after checking your running style. I asked them not to tell me the prices, as I didn't want it to affect my decision, but tried 3 pairs and went for the ones that felt the best?! Which happened to be the cheapest (Nike Vomero + @ £89) they are absolutely brilliant and have completely remove the pain I used to get in my outer knee when running. I can't stress enough, how important your runners are. Finally go for a good pair of socks, with a double weave, really do make a difference too and only a tenner. Good Luck and enjoy, or should that be endure??
  14. Hi General, First post in this thread (long time reader though) it is clear from your responses that you talk with both passion and conviction. Whilst being frustrated at the "apparent" lack of progress on the transfer front, I am able to remain grounded in knowing that every effort is been made to aquire the relevent players that MON thinks will improve our club. I believe in you and I also believe in Mr Lerner and MON. Im prepared to sit tight and wait until 31st August before commenting on what may or may not be a good/bad transfer window and even then what is that based on? guess the answer to that lies within the table come next May. I think we as Villa fans should realise just how FORTUNATE we are to have a member of the board of AVFC interact with us at such a level and frequency and to lose it would be hugely disappointing. It is my belief that we at ALL times should remember, how it used to be and exactly just how far we have come in a short space of time. Let's remain focused on the bigger picture. If it's an consolation General, the current levels of moaning, frustration, anger, whatever you want to call it, is based around expectation, hope and belief, something we as villa fans had forgotten and probably being starved of for a long long while. Were probably all just a little impatient, now we have shaken of our apathy......... Thankyou for your continuing input and insight, it is very much appreciated and respected. Matty Semper Fidelis
  15. September Morn - Neil Diamond, I have just re-discovered him since his set at Glastonbury.. (should I be admitting this on a internet message board? haha)
  16. Daz, I thought this thread was to ask questions and make suggestiond to the General, good or bad. My question was can you point me in the right direction, to make the complaint. I am sure if the moderators of this forum feel it is inappropriate then they will tell me. As a business I am sure the General is happy to take the good and the bad comments. I now have my answer and will take the matter further with the relevent person. For me this is one of the most important changes (apart from the obvious stuff on the pitch) that makes AVFC incredibley unique, the chance to interact with the very heart of our great club. There is not a club in England possibley the world, where there is such an outlet to communicate with the club. For that I am just as happy as all the other stuff that is happening at our club. A quick positive point to make. My six year old son is now hooked on the Villa experience, to see his joy when villa scored and to watch him frantiacally wave his flag brought a lump to my throat. I was six when we won the big one and have been hooked since. I think this was HIS day. Thank you Aston Villa FC. Matthew
  17. Hi General, Re: Free Scarf/Steward Thank you for your fast response, not that I am surprised, nothing you guy's do ceases to amaze. I arrived a VP at about 4:20 ish and was in T3 in the north stand, it was the last turnstile that was open for that block. There were two turnstiles closed due to training and it was two to the right of those (if that makes sense) she was situated at the bottom of the furthest flight of stairs. General can I say that it wasn't actually the refusal of a scarf that was the real issue as I am aware that policies are there for a reason (although I will take you up on your kind offer of providing a scarf ) it was the aggressive, sneering manner in which it was done, to the point of intimidating my kids. I would not wish the sack on anyone, but this lady really does not seem suitable for a customer interfacing role. Thank you for taking the time to respond. Matthew
  18. Yes spot on, way to much hair spray. That aside she really was a nasty piece of work. Absolutley no credit to Aston Villa Football Club. I will be very upset if this isn't responded to by the club. The lady in question should not be alllowed anywhere near the paying public. If she was a member of my staff she would not be there for long. To reiterate, General please can you signpost to the relevant person to pursue this with. Thanks Matthew
  19. Hi General, First post on this thread so apologies it's a little negative. First can I say what a absolutley wonderful job, you Randy and the team are doing. The change is simply incredible. I have a complaint to make and would appreciate some direction on where to take it. I booked five tickets for the Sheff Utd match and was taking three children aged 6,6 and 4 to there first game. Unfortunately one of my children was poorly along with there mother, so both were unable to attend. I went into the ground and and received my free scarf along with my two children. I also produced the two other tickets which weren't being used because of the above and asked the gentleman handing out the scarves whether I could get one for my little boy who could not make it due to illness. He explained that he wasn't aloud to give me a scarf even though I had produced two extra tickets which had been paid for. I explained again that my boy was poorly and that I had promised to get him a scarf. At this point a female steward came over and without provacation told me in no uncertain terms " you ain't having one" she also said that she didn't care if my son was poorly as it was "just tough". At this point she said if I didn't like it " I knew what I could do" I asked her what that was and she said "complain" she went on to say that I should stop talking to her or she would throw me and my kids out of the ground. I asked her for her name in order to complain and was told "you ain't having it" whilst aggresivley glaring at me. At this point her supervisor came over and told her to calm down and walk away. I again calmly asked for her name to be told the same. Finally her supervisor reluctantly offered his name and said that in his opinion she had not done anything wrong (even though he wasn't there) I am extremley upset by this and it was made worse when my four year old daugher said, "Daddy why was that lady so cross?" I feel that the treatment I received was nothing short of disgraceful. I am not easily offended and wouldn't normally complain, but I feel that this needs addressing. I feel very strongly about this and would like an explanation why as a paying customer I was treated so appallingly in front of two small children. My daughter was very upset. Sorry for the rant but I want to be sure that this is dealt with by the correct person and not just ignored. Once again sorry that this detracts from an otherwise fantastic day. Matthew
