  1. Hassenhutl is a weird one. He clearly is a decent manager and I’d say Southampton have always been a bit of a yo-yo team so it’s hard to tell whether it’s him or just them being them. Sometimes top half, sometimes bottom half, sometimes relegated. It’s hard to judge him.

Bielsa is another I wouldn’t say no to but I’d also be very wary and scared as he is batshit mentally insane.

Nuno is another that i’d be wary of but maybe could do a decent job. Unsure of him but not against the idea.

Id say out of Poch, Tuchel, Jose and Emery that Emery is the most gettable. Tuchel and Jose wouldn’t look at us, Poch maybe if we chucked loads of money at him but he probably won’t come imo.

Id be very happy with Emery.

Everyone else mentioned (Dyche, Parker et al) can do one.

  2. It doesn’t make you a better fan to moan about other fans in off topic. It’s not toxic to have an opinion that you don’t agree with either. I don’t agree with a few posters about our manager, they aren’t toxic people though. I wish I understood their completely wrong and misguided thoughts (😉) but they are still fellow Villa fans worthy of opinion.

Even posters who hope we lose are still people who are just reacting emotively to a strongly emotive sport, they are still Villa fans and are at least passionate about the club. To suggest someone go and support someone else is just acting like a smug ‘I’m a better fan’ word removed.

Every week someone posts in here about how much they hate on topic, just accept that people have different opinions and most of what is said is never personal and is very reactive, sometimes misguided and knee jerky. It doesn’t make them bad people. Just human.

  3. I don’t think he needs to be sacked, I certainly don’t trust him all that much at the moment but as others have suggested, restrict his role in terms of the football side of things and he should focus on the corporate and commercial side 100% instead. If he fronts up and sacks Gerrard and gets the next appointment right that will go some way in restoring trust and making up for this current situation.

I think @JAMAICAN-VILLANis probably right, though, I'd be surprised if they haven't drawn up a shortlist of replacements, but it's hard to get the timing right mid-season. That's part of the reason we ended up with Gerrard in the first place, and they don't want to repeat the mistake.

The World Cup break could be a more natural time to line someone up.

Oh I agree with him 100%, said as much in the NSWE thread. It’s the comment towards other posters lower down that’s unneeded considering how much other posters are called out to stop doing stuff.

Any tips on uploading pics very welcome!

The link works fine. Some good designs there. I really really love the AV one as it lends to the rumoured lamppost design as well as being modern and dare I say it, almost Juventus like.

But somehow the Lion has to be there as does the words Aston Villa for me. You did do one with the Lion above the words, with a classier font and stretch the Villa so it’s the same width as Aston then that’s a winner for me.

But that AV one is my favourite!

Players are letting Gerrard down. Mings had a striker and Martinez should have done better from the freekick and we still cant score despite creating numerous chances.

Wtf lol. Blind. Best 45 minutes we’ve ever played ever that first half and we still lost it. Poor Stevie.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m no fan of Gerrard. However, this defeat is not on him.

It’s a lack of composure that has prevented us from scoring and two individual areas that have cost us the goals.

The same as it was 10 months ago. He’s done nothing to change or progress us whatsoever.

Smith was sacked after good performances against Chelsea. The reasoning was that 10 points from 11 games wasn't good enough for the "continuous improvement" of 11th place from the season prior. Well, a year on and it's 9 points from 10 games after finishing 14th.

But but but he could be on 12 points after 11. Progression!!!!!
