    It would all fit in and seems very plausible mate - 2 questions , when did villa become aware of him meeting pep in London and was his injury really as genuine as we are led to believe as there were a few rumours around at the time of the injury ?

    The agent would do the negotiating and report back to Jack presumably , Southgate did an interview in the euros where he admitted players were still in touch with agents etc as life goes on outside the bubble . it’s Sam lee who’s claiming his reliable contact told him it was all agreed on July 2nd , not me

    I think Omar said the quote was before jacks new deal but as you say purslow is hardly going to go public when asked and say there is a release clause . ultimately I don’t think city would have a hope in hell of villa selling Jack unless there was a clause they activated , otherwise surely we’d say not for sale at any price .

    Didn’t they deny that before his new contract though? Apparently Percy was quoted as saying there was a significant release clause and he is very reliable on villa news . May well have been the only way Jack would agree a new deal ?

    Why would city pay him over the summer when he wouldn’t be there ? Returning to pre season would be the ideal time to sign him saving over a million in wages too .

    If as sam lee claimed it was all agreed on July 2 then I feel for villa fans who spent cash on tickets merchandise etc expecting Jack to be here - I really hope Sam lee is wrong on that as it would leave a sour taste .

    Wouldn’t need to be a relegation clause , there are also release clauses should clubs agree to activate a certain fee
