Lets hope so as he is a top top player. A 30M player and when can we afford one of them? Even clubs in this league supposedly challenging for champions league cant afford one of them so we'd be doing well to have one in our team It will be interesting to see how we are when he steps out at Villa park on the 24th in that case

Why can't we just have a normal summer for once? we've not had a normal summer where we can build a team with the same manager and the same players (that we want to keep obv) for yrs now

As much as i want him gone...now, i've got a horrible feeling that his transfer may not go through and he will have to come back grovelling saying it was all a mistake he shouldnt have listened to his agent blah blah Another scenario could be as someone stated earlier that no one goes in for him and he ends up going to a lesser club then anticipated which i could see a move to Turkey or Russia...Benteke take note of the Samba saga with Blackburn a couple of yrs back

I know i may be hung out to dry but sometimes chucking money at a team doesn't always guarantee success we only have to look at the o'neill days to prove that. Arsenal in relation to their stature spend next to nothing, moving down the League Everton do not spend massive amounts and they are there or there about in the mix for Europe every season

The good thing is that this Benteke saga has united us Villa fans and i hope it has with the dressing room as well. As Durham pointed out this really has only highlighted how good Lambert has been in the transfer market and as a manager all round, and if anything we'll come out of this better in regards to media due to how we will conduct ourselves in relation to media transfer of CB and his replacement

Doesn't every club sell. It's like saying Spurs held off on Modric one season but then sold him the following season. The problem is not who we have sold as I have mentioned numerous times, It's how we've replaced them. Ideal out come now would be Benteke, Bent and Ireland to be gone by Friday we finish our tour of Germany over the weekend and then come back to spending the cash on some decent targets that Lambert already has lined up

Sigurdsen, dembele, holtby, dembele, sandro....spurs have a terrific side and there are many players who would walk into our side... Not that these are likely to be offered Thats what i meant i can't think of one players who we could realistically be offered maybe Lennon at a puch but even then i dont think Lambert would want him

He has no right. He's still being paid a bloody fortune to be a Villa player. And that did a lot for Benteke didn't it

I cant see Lambert buying into the part exchange deal that Spurs etc may offer it just doesnt fit into his building project. Lambert will have clear targets he wants, i think under him gone are the days of us being mugged off with teams cast offs

I still believe its Chelsea thats behind all this, and i also believe that all this started around the time that Lukaku opened his gob. I thought it bit odd back then, and im convinced of it now. Im sure his mates were busily working on him whilst he was away with them with the Belgium team, and im sure his agent has been pretty active behind the scenes aswell. Also, this has Mouriniho written all over it. I'd actually prefer it be Chelsea out of all the teams in the UK that was in for him

I know i'm suprised at myself tbf i admit that for like 2 mins when i read skysports news this morn i was gutted but then i was like No sod him let him go we'll have a replacement lined up why should we let him ruin all the hard work and optimism that Lambert and the fans have built up
