  1. Not being an Everton fan so therefore not being that close to it I am amazed they haven’t sighed any players yet given a few have left at the end of contracts. The team they would be able to put out currently is relegation material all over it and I’m not seeing anyone linked to signing for them although to be fair the isn’t much to appeal to players there at the moment

If we have actually gone for chiesa it’s just embarrassing. We are so far away from that level… I just hope it’s clickbait

I don’t see ambition as embarrassing. I remember Man City going after Robinho 10/12 years ago and people thought that was far fetched and unlikely but he sighed albeit for a huge salary but it happened. I’d rather see links to Chiesa than the lazy rubbish like Adams or any other Leeds player written by journalists that have missed the news that we have very wealthy and competent owners who have set up an executive structure up there with the best in the business and hired an elite manager.

just on the Leeds links I would rather us be linked to chiesa’s dad than those Leeds players.

  3. I or someone else might have said this before but this guy prior to joining us has played 78 professional matches most of which were at Oxford, reading, Rotherham etc and then that little run for arsenal the season before we signed him and then since joining us he has played 110 times won the cops America and the World Cup while keeping 20 clean sheets in 30 games for Argentina and keeping clean sheets for fun for us. What an odd but remarkable career

  4. Just seeing a piece about Everton being under pressure to sell onana who I would say is about their only decent player. Anyone know the reasons why? I’m assuming it’s because they have no money and need to balance the books

    Youri Tielemans (confirmed)

    Harvey Barnes

    Nico Williams

    New No2 Gk

This would be a very good window for us in our current position.

If we also add any of the following , than it would be a fantastic window.

    CB- Pau Torres or similiar

    Winger-

    Striker-

    Midfielder-

It may depend on who we can sell.

It's likely Tim Iroegbunam will be part of our squad this season.

Of all of these nico Williams is the one for me that we should break our necks to get over the line. 21 in July, coming up to 100 games for Bilbao and he is quick, skilful and works hard so basically a huge upgrade on Bailey and I think would add a huge amount of variety to our attacking set up. I’d like pau Torres too and then we really are starting to get a serious squad together to be lead by a genius

Yeah so shit we couldn’t beat a ten man Leeds side under gerrard but same players managed to beat Man Utd, Chelsea, spurs and Brighton twice, hammered Newcastle at home and of course beat the mighty Leeds under Emery. But I agree gerrard was superb at Villa the players let him down but at Leeds would be a perfect fit for there vision 😜

  7. Funny paper talk line in sky sports today spurs want cut price deal on raya. They only want to pay £20 mill not the £40 Brentford have agreed they would let him go for. Classic levy thinking clubs should help them out by dropping what they will accept. Maybe pay what’s asked or decide you can’t afford him and get a keeper you can afford like Frazier forester.

Does he realize his team has been relegated?

I’m not sure it’s sunk in for some including the players because I am assuming after the disgusting display against Everton the players seemed to have no clue they were in a relegation fight.

You just know that Garth is going to start Maguire ahead of him and Ty will waste 2 weeks of holiday getting splinters in his arse.

Best English CB in the league by far - better than Stones who's been playing as "Pep's hybrid CB, RWB, CM, CDM, GENIUS, LETS SUCK HIS C*CK"position*

    *TM Sky Sports

Maguire is nailed on to start despite Man Utd starting almost anyone they can to avoid playing him and prepared to pay £10 million to not play for them. Mings has been in sensational form last 6 months and has been excellent whenever he has played for England.

on the stones playing all over the place a bit like zinchenco at arsenal when he won’t play left back despite being the left back I would use this and get a player to go and play in the space that leaves so with stones I would pop Watkins into that gap between the other centre half and full back or with arsenal get Bailey high on the right where the left back should be.

Felix on loan with an option to buy would be a great move.

According to the the sun (yes I know they make everything up) he wants Newcastle I’m guessing due to champions league football. He is feeling a bit like a mercenary at this point which I know all footballers are to a point but for him it seems more obvious

Just read back through some of the Match threads for matches during and after that run and see how quickly views change.  So many calls to "get the ball forward quicker" and to "stop playing it out so slowly from the back".  It took a while for those to die back but I am sure they will return if we have a slow start.

Indeed my biggest worry is that next season could be really competitive - the Sly 6, Newcastle, Brighton and ourselves will start it all expecting to finish in (or challenge) the Top 6.  Then Fulham and Brentford will be hoping to build on last season (difficult) whilst teams like West Ham will be wanting to put a bad year behind them.  So the worry is that if we don't start well then some fans will forget the progress we have made and demand that anything less than the top 4 or 5 is a step backwards.  I just hope that everyone sees the bigger picture and that replicating the second 2/3s of this season will be tough (especially if we add in a couple of decent cup runs).

Obviously the top 4 plus Liverpool will probably be strong again although I wonder how Newcastle will cope with the champions league fixtures and actually same for arsenal who I expect to drop off from where they have been this year. Spurs I’m not worried about at all, poor squad and a mess behind the scenes and no desire to spend the money to put it right. Chelsea I expect to improve a lot under poch but still lumbered with a bloated, disjointed and unbalanced squad. Brighton I think have had as good a season as they could ever expect so I would be surprised if they keep that up. Brentford mid table at best for me especially with Toney banned and Fulham are a bit of a Sheffield Utd second season in my view lazy pundits predicting a mid table finish based on the season just gone but not seeing that they outperformed on there ability and I can see them struggling

He’s still winning trophies and making finals. You talk like he’s not won anything for years.

He finished 7th in the Italian league but yes he did make the europa league final and win the conference league I can just see the his standard of club from the real madrids and Man Utd’s dropping lower and lower to clubs like Roma and spurs but to be honest it’s more the horrendous style of football he plays that irritates me more than anything.

  13. Shame he has decided to choose a nothing league and oil money and the weird perception that PSG are a European elite club. They are basically Newcastle without the competition in the league, ten years ago I doubt anybody is leaving Real Madrid to sign for psg but hey maybe I’m just bitter

  14. Looks like they are in a real mess with the finances and the stadium now being treated as a separate entity from the club for business purposes. I can see the Americans walking away and a disinterested owner letting them rot

Klopp is the worst in football

I think they are all bad to be fair it’s just when they are winning it’s easier to come across nice but when they are losing the true colours tend to come out. However how anyone can think Jose is or has been an elite manager in the last 8 years is beyond me! Total anti football awful tactics, the game has well and truly past him by and he is not even yesterdays man he is last decades man. Seeing Emery at work shows how far ahead most the top managers are now than Jose

Kane is basically exactly what Manchester United need if they have aims on being a true title contender again. They don't have a reliable, world class striker. This season they got lucky that Rashford was on fire for a bit but otherwise they've lacked a great striker for years. The only position you could argue they need to improve more is with a great centre mid, but even then you'd probably fancy the striker to be the more important signing.

But buying Kane is going to be a nightmare. Not just the usual Levy levvy. Or the England tax. Or the bumping the price 'cos it's Ya-night-ted. Or the fact it's one of the best goalscorers on the European football. Buying Kane is essentially to convince Spurs to accept the one thing that's made them special for a while is gone, and given everything else going wrong for them you're kinda asking them to agree to risk the clubs status in the middle term as a big dog in the league... That's going to make him extremely, extremely expensive. And then you consider he's 30. And then it appears that Manchester United's owners aren't exactly going to be happy splashing crazy money right before they walk out...

For me the dream would be for him to stay at spurs see his contract out or at least until January when his value is practically nothing and leave for free or very little while downing tools in a spurs side managed by the Celtic manager languishing in 11 place and leave spurs as there greatest ever striker and still made them little to no money and also not got close to winning a trophy either. And then watch them sink back into the mediocrity I remember in the 80’s and 90’s

    Just saw this:

    —————

    OPINION:

The difference between Guardiola and Mourinho is:

Mourinho can easily take this Man City side to the Champions League Final too.

But Guardiola can never take this Roma side to a Europa Final.

    —————

    It’s an interesting point.

After that performance last night I never want to see Jose near a cup final ever again. That was one of the most typical anti football Jose performance you will see and it’s what he does now and it’s god awful from a manager 10 years past his sell by date. I’ve just heard talk sport get people on saying they love Jose and it’s always interesting when he does press conferences etc and in my view 1) it’s not actually interesting or funny at all and 2) who watches football for press conferences? It’s setting up a team like that and playing that way that would be the death of football, he is essentially a Portuguese Sam Aladyce/Sean dyche
