Important not to overreact after one poor performance and result… mustn’t ignore all the positive and impressive ones.

Can’t win them all, we will be back.

Unai needs some better players in certain positions imo though…. must strengthen at least at RB in Jan.

These players have and will perform a lot better than they did today.

I agree it’s important not to over react and had we lost to Brighton away or someone like that I would be less bothered but we have failed to beat wolves and forest away both of whom are garbage. Games like today would have allowed us to keep a 5 point gap to Newcastle and 7 point gap to Utd but now we are back to 2 and 4 points respectively so this was a big game and we didn’t play like it was. The closing down for the first goal was pathetic the just was nobody charging out to block the shot. Forest charged and blocked most of our efforts or rushed us into poor finishing. The 2nd was equally poor in terms of closing the shot down and yes it was a nothing shot that emi should have just caught rather than do what ever the hell it actually did but those two goals and lack of closing optimised a lazy performance of a team believing the hype. Will utd lose away to forest ? Probably not, they will probably put in another horrible performance like yesterday but win 1-0 and this is why we will probably still finish around 7th.

though Pau played very well on the brightside but other than that turgid is all I can think to describe our performance

  2. Just reading the Utd forum (which is good entertainment by the way) the seems to be a mix of why would Emery leave Villa where he is happy, I’m control and very well payed to Utd are like arsenal when he took over and he lost the dressing room. Doesn’t look much interest from Utd fans for emery which is good.

just on mason mount, my take has always been he is very overrated. I remember watching him at derby and thinking he was a tidy little player but in the premier league nothing stood out to me. If I’m looking at this from a Villa perspective would I be happy if Villa announced they were signing him on a free transfer ? My answer would be I don’t think he gets in the side but if the wages were not to high then maybe someone to add to the squad but if he wanted big money then I would say no way. If Villa announced they had signed him for £60 million I think I would be physically sick with disgust. I just don’t get the football thinking that says this guy is a £60 million player

I've seen we are looking to open contract talks with him.

    Give him all the monies.

We need to, I know we only recently signed him up but the Man City’s and Liverpool’s of this world will be looking and given his development and current rate of progression it seems a good time

  4. This is just my take on things regarding the terrace view but I think the holte end ticketing should have been left alone given it’s the essence of the ground and where the atmosphere is driven from so giving what seems to to be 2 or 3 thousand tickets too this product and stopping real fans getting into the upper holte for me starts to put us up there with the Man Utd prawn sandwich brigade when the are loads of other areas this could happen. On a personal perspective I’m about 10000 in the ST Que so I have a Villa membership which was great last season as I could get an upper holte seat for most games so I went to probably 12/13 home games. This season I couldn’t get a ticket for Luton or West Ham and have had to get a ticket in the lower holte on a different row to my son so I have asked Villa for a membership refund as it’s basically pointless

  5. This Utd team at the moment are absolutely rancid and I have to say I love it. Just watching Neville and Keane saying ten hag should be given time, I would have thought the likes of Emery and eddie Howe or postecoglu have shown that to be rubbish. Good managers improve what they already have and select players to add to the squad wisely. I would say he has done none of that evidenced with the vanity signing if Anthony

  6. Still disappointed we couldn’t keep him around the squad this year but fair play to the lad he obviously wanted to play but he is the one more than Arron Ramsey I’m disappointed was allowed to leave but hopefully he progresses to the point we bring him back

  7. Just looking on the Everton forum they think it’s click bait and a smokescreen and they will perhaps get a 3 point deduction which might well still relegate them given how pathetic the team is but 12 points would mean they would require another probably another 38 points if we maybe have the lowest ever total required of say 33 points which would require 1.13 points per game against a current rate of 0.7 ppg. I for one can’t see a 12 point deduction but I think it would be fair but then it begs the question of Man City

  8. Just watched the highlights again. We are lethal when he gets played in down the Channels either with Watkins getting a shot off or pulling the ball back we create chances almost every time. It’s clever too because he isn’t wasting energy running down the wing it’s the channel maybe no more than 2 yards outside the width of the penalty area but as soon as the full back pushes and leaves that space his is on it on pass or two passes and the balls away and he is gone. Proper coaching with a proper player learning how to use the fantastic footballing attributes to there maximum.

I'm sure everyone heard the stat during the game but Doug was the first Villa player to score in 6 consecutive home games since Dwight Yorke.

I think he levelled it in the last game. Today he beat it

Despite some super goals from others, I gave Konsa man of the match, such a great performance from him.

So did I. The guys just oozes class and it doesn’t matter if it’s quick nippy forwards or big hulking muscle Mary’s like today he just defends with ease.

Am I just a knowledge-less pleb or is Mac Allister really not that great?

Looks another one that is ok but not great away from Brighton like cicado, bissouma and even potter. I would be very wary about buying from Brighton to be honest having said that Mac allister looked very good for Argentina in the wc

  12. I am confused about the 25% stake and suggestion he will come in and renovate the stadium (worse than every PL stadium other than Luton) and increase capacity, upgrade the worst training ground of the top 14 clubs and make loads of money for transfers available. Why would he do that? All he would be doing is massively increasing the glazers share value without them spending any money (because they won’t spend theirs  or utd’s money in facilities otherwise they would have already done so) while yes maybe increase a bit of his own share value but at a great cost while also making the potential future shares he might try and buy far more expensive. He would be better off running it all into the ground then buying cheap and building but I don’t think the glazers will sell while they can still take money out without doing anything.

also the Utd fans should have a word with there self entitled brains when it comes to transfers. They have spent a fortune on players under the glazers it’s just that they signed players like Anthony who is rubbish for crazy money or sancho without checking his mental state or paying huge wages to washed up players Real Madrid want to shift on. Most clubs would only dream of those transfer budgets, they just spent it very badly
