  1. Someone get Flores on the phone and give him the job. He speaks english and has won trophies, its a no-brainer. Forget this Premiership experience nonesense, Wenger and Mourinho didn't have any and it didn't do them any harm. Even Guillem agrees..... http://www.guillembalague.com/blog_desp.php?titulo=Liverpool%20should%20consider%20Quique%20Sanchez%20Flores&id=458
  2. Just been reading the Times WebCast with Gary Jacob, who is their "transfer specalist' and he seemd to have a fairly strong insight on a lot of the current transfer dealings i.e. Lukaku to Chelsea (talks ongoing) Parker to Spurs (Wants to stay down south).... Anyway he kept saying Villa didn't have much money to spend this summer so I asked him (and below is his response) Comment From Harry Gary, you seem fairly certain Villa have little money to spend, are you basing this assumption on Benitez turning us down? I have it on fairly good authority that Benitez was never an option for the board due to his controversial managerial style (to similar to MON)? From the sale of Young, Milner and Barry coupled with a hugely decreased wage bill surely we have a bit of cash about? Thursday June 9, 2011 13:22 Gary Jacob: So far as I know Rafa spoke to the Lerner on the tell yesterday and go little imression that the club had ambitions to be in the CL in the short term and that they would be money to spend. Villa announced a 37m loss in March, to may 2010. I am not saying he is right, but is slightly concerning. can anyone shed any light on how much we have to spend?
  3. Just been on the Liverpool forum...They adore Rafa and think he will do a great job at Villa. They seem to think the British media have been out to get Benitez for a while now, and he is a great manager.
  4. Terry Venables? (not saying that i want him... but would be a shock!)
  5. Hi General, Great to have you back and can you thank everyone at the club for what has been a highly successful transfer window so far. I just have one quick question, do you feel that Gerard Houiller may have rocked the boat a little top hard when he came to the club. While you obviously know a lot more about the behind the scenes comings and goings at the club than myself, it seems from an outsiders perspective that a few of the players, namely Ireland, Carew, Warnock etc. were upset with Houiller’s approach to the squad when he joined. I don't expect you to come out and bad mouth the manager or any of the players past or presnt, but it just seems strange that at a club where we constantly heard a lot about "an exceptional dressing room atmosphere, where everyone got on so well" that we suddenly have two whole months of tears and tantrums. Can you clear up at all what happened between October and the end of December? Will these players like Warnock and Ireland ever play for Villa again? Whats happened to Beye? I am not trying to stir up trouble by bringing this up, but I was at the Man City away game back in December, and just couldn't believe what I was seeing. I would love a bit of a explanation as to what was going on, so the whole fan base can move on and put those dark months behind us. Thanks
  6. Always look on the Albrighton Side of Life- love it. A lot of chants get suggested on here that will never catch on for a number of different reasons but I think this definatly can.... Genius Also enjoy Ireland's in the Stream, again simple and clever can't see why it wouldn't catch on if was sung enough!
  7. General, Just a quick question in regards to the distribution of non Season Ticket Holders Carling Cup final tickets. I know there will be lots of fans on here ranting and raving but that is not my point at all. I just wanted to know how the club came to the decision to not include away games in the booking history criteria. From other threads it seems that this has always been the club policy in 2000, 96 and 94 so it seems sensible to do it again. However, as a huge Villa fan I love to watch our beloved Villa away to keep them going when 35,000+ opposing fans are on their back. I have always been amazed by how vocal our travelling fans have been, such as at White Hart Lane on Saturday where we out sung Spurs for the whole game (I’m sure even Glastonspur will admit this). I would have qualified for the last round of tickets after being to four home games and four away (Man U, West Ham, Fulham and Spurs) and it just seems a shame that all our singing has fallen on deaf ears. If we do get to Wembley again (fingers crossed) could a scheme be set up to reward those who travel away? Up the Villa, and thank you for all that you and Randy have done for our wonderful club. If it wasn’t for Randy’s input we would not have got to Wembley in the first place.
  8. General Firstly, I want to thank everyone at the club from Mr. Lerner to the kit men for doing such an outstanding job, not just in getting to the League Cup semi-final, but over the last three years. In every department we have steadily improved and while there is still some progress to be made, every so often its good to stop and admire the view during the “climb” even if we are not at the top yet. Anyway that is all by the by, I was writing to ask about how the loyalty points scheme on the AVFC ticketing website works. How much do you get a game and will these points come in use for the LC Semi Final/Final (if we get there)! If there are not for this, what are these points for? I know most tickets availability is just ranked on season tickets and away game attendance. Thanks again Up The Villa
  9. To the tune of "Forever Young" by Youth Group Forever Young, We want to have forever Young He's just wants to score forever, forever, forever! Forever Young, We want to have forever Young He's just wants to score forever, forever, forever! I think a verse might make it to complicated. I looked at forever young by Dylan but I personally thought this was easier to chant!
  10. I would like to add further support to everything that has been said. While I have viewed Villatalk for a long time I have never felt to need to post, but after seeing the reaction to the game against Fulham I just can't believe what I am reading. Thank you General for everything that you, MON and Randy have done for Aston Villa. Keep up the great work and Up the Villa
