I think they've got new tech on the M25 cameras recently.
You still have the chance that they may or may not be switched on for any particular day, but they now also adapt to reduced speed limits. So where previously they were set to trigger at 80mph, they are now set to trigger at 10mph above whatever the matrix signs are saying.
I think that's true. If it isn't, I'd like to take the credit for starting the myth.

I have to give a shout out for British Gas at this point.
They replaced our meter with a new one. The new one was zeroed. Next time they did a meter reading it was much much lower than previously recorded. So they credited my account with about £1,200.
We waited a year before we spent it.

Haven't had a warning point for 10 months!
Yes, sir. Absolutely. I've learned my lesson. I can honestly say I'm a changed man. I'm no longer a danger to society. That's the God's honest truth. No doubt about it.

I would imagine Burnham would renationalise the railways immediately after he discovers the secrets of how to make humans fly and shortly after he gives all Labour supporters time machines.
yeah, that definitely has the strong whiff of an election promise about it
but, it does show what having a popular socialist in the mix can do, it can potentially bring 'the centre ground' back from being just further and further to the right
-
yeah, I've learnt my lesson there, I won't go into the detail, but having once been in the office and searched 'two fat men' I tend to be a bit more careful these days

bizarrely, I just typed in 'bearded action man' to get a picture to pass off as Roy Keane.....and a picture of Roy Keane popped up!

There's a new bloke at work called Anthony, and he likes it pronounced with the 'th' in the middle rather than like a 't'. I know it's his name and everything so it's up to him, but for some reason it pisses me off.
Just call him Tony or Tone to be safe.

Corbyn was interviewed on Newsnight last night.
I only caught the last 10 minutes, but during that time he said the following:
1. He doesn't see why Parliament has to be in London.
2. He's not sure just bombing bits of the Middle East is a useful way to solve IS.
3. If he was leader of the party he would be ok with individual Labour MP's voting against the whip but for the views of their local constituents.
Last time I caught part of a speech he suggested energy and water shouldn't be in private foreign ownership.
The man is clearly some special kind of dangerous **** idiot.

I think you're looking at art a bit simplistically
I knows what I likes.

Such a big ego that the masses don't know who he is.Banksy must come close.
A guy with a rat stencil and friends in the media.
I think you might be looking at this a bit simplistically.
Compared to you?
I did try to explain my thunking in the next couple of lines, but you edited out the rest.

That's not meant to be rude. I mean not everyone with a big ego needs to be on the cover of Howdy! magazine.
You could suggest that he has the best of both worlds. His peers know who he is but he can walk amongst the mortals with ease.

that's crazy
it's almost like they don't even want you to get pissed at the airport

Not sure on finance deals? Surely better to get something a bit older and pay outright?
out of curiosity, have you driven or ridden much in a BMW 3 series?
my personal preference (and it's all down to personal taste) would be for something a little less hard on the old suspension

However, this doesn't mean that no DJ's will ever let the computer do most of the work - I saw a certain former member of New Order doing exactly that in Hong Kong once - but it's actually quite rare.
My guess is either Ian Curtis or Morrissey?

I am under constant (though admittedly low level) pressure to buy something like this.
Friends of ours, in their early 50's, recently bought an ex AA van, hand painted it and basically stuck a mattress in the back and disappeared to Devon for 3 weeks. For a while I wouldn't have been surprised to get home one evening and find the missus had bought an ice cream van or a VW transporter or some such.

I left my good flip flops in Africa.
I now have a mediocre pair of M&S flip flops.
What do you drive?

Just as an idea, if it doesn't have to be 'new', have you considered a 15 plate used car?
A quick look on the Mercedes used car section suggests they've got dozens of C250 AMG Sports versions, loaded with kit, 15 plate all with 6,000 miles on the clock and all at around £26,000 / £27,000 if you bought them without any haggling.
They'll still do PCP deals on them and still have low interest.
You save about £6,000 for having a car that's 6 months old.
the one above is 220 CDI AMG Sport edition, diesel, auto, tiptronic and every extra known to man - 5,000 miles - £24,450 on the windscreen.
