Hi General, First of all, best wishes to your father and I hope your preparations for Thanksgiving are going well (In Britain we have our Thanksgiving on July 4th:) arf arf!! Just wanted your 'non Villa' opinion on where the credit crunch and forecasted economic slump (even deflation) will leave not only British football but world sport over the next few years? In an environment where very few organisations can survive without benefactors (commercial or individual)- be it in the NBA, NFL or European Football (Aston Villa included at the moment), How long will sky and setanta be able to fund English football for instance?just how long can the staus quo continue? and at what stage will the worlds sporting bodies be forced to look at consolidation of organisations, wage caps etc. It would be interesting to hear your personal opinions, which of course are not necessarily those of Aston Villa FC. i am assuming we are through already, but after so many years wait - i sort have to go - and i have to be in the midlands next day so it works. The draw for the group stages is on the 7th in Geneva - looking at the UEFA website there are only 5 group games??/ how does that work? A group of 4 would mean home and away 6 games - I am asuming you play home and away to each side? But trust me there are 5 game nights scheduled on the UEFA website

Hi General - i read your passionate response to the wave of 'transfer' / Barry related posts - both of which you have staetd are not part of your remit. I can only speak for myself, but what the board and management have done for Aston Villa FC has been remarkable. The Barry situation is a blot on the summer, but from what bI can see Barry, his agent and Liverpool are the problem and Randy and MON have kept to their word throughout. i just wanted to register my thanks for what the new Aston Villa management team have done - and you for putting up with all of this day in day out

General, with the news about Ted Kennedy yesterday, can I ask if you know or knew the Kennedy family?, had any political or social interaction with them? and to ask you to sum up their net contribution to the USA and also to the world in your opinion? For what its worth - my opinion is they have been surviving on reputations since JFK and Robert, and seem a bit like a royal family of sorts without a real purpose - i maybe completely wrong..also .could a nother Kennedy ever become president? Oh and dont get me on to the Grassy knoll and the magic bullet theory - you'll never get back into Florida:)
