  1. BlackcountryVilla and his predictions:) they work wonders
  2. just caught up with this thread and others - in the last couple of days - wont add fuel to the lamb Venglos like McNeil/Turner and others came to Villa at the end of a mini era - the taylor years were wonderful but aging players etc didnt help. IMO Saunders, Taylor(1st time), BFR, Little, Gregory and MON, have been given a chance all the other managers were hired to fail
  3. no the 10 should be made to give alternatives - or die:)
  4. Hi General - thanks to all the gang for pretty much securing automatic european qualification for the first time in a decade, and with 3 months left of the season. Hopefully there is another twist and it will still be the CL rather than the Europa Cup - Despite the change in the 'on the field fotunes' over the last few weeks, it is a wonderful season and a great time to be a Villa fan. Well done to all.
  5. Well done Don_Simon - nice to see a touch of maturity and wit on a humorous thread...any other threads you want to add your wit too?
  6. Hi General - Last game of the season is against Newcastle, as you know and as well as it hopefully being the biggest game of the season, its also a chance to celebrate the lives of those ex Villans who have passed away this year - which will be emotional. Can I also draw your attention to Bobby Robson, the ex England and Newcastle Manager, and now a director at Newcastle. In my mind he is one of, if not the most popular figure in British football, for his footballing prowess, but more so for his enthusiasm, ethics, and his manner. For me his contribution to British football has been immense and I cant think of anyone else who has such 'cross club' popularity.Bobby is terminally ill, and has dedicated the last 3 years to his charity. I for one would like to pay a tribute to him, as I am sure most football fans would, should he be at Villa Park in May. as he may not be around next season.
  7. Hi General, Hope you are well Sir - I just wanted to say how utterly bewildered I am reading your thread on one of the other sites, which will remain nameless - seems like a blatant misuse of your thread and your time by the 'posters'- I know you are thick skinned, but to me its rude and shows a distinct lack of respect. Thankfully, that would not happen on this site. Despite the poor results of late, the Acorns sponsorship again shows that Aston Villa are a shining light amongst not only Football clubs but amonst the Private sector, and I thank you, Randy and the team for making me feel part of it. One other point, how important do you feel the Obama- Gordon Brown talks are? Do you feel they can muscle/fast track their way out of the current economic situation, or are initial meetings like that more 'style over substance'.? Thanks for all General
  8. James Milner eats pigs trotters raw that he has stolen from people from the blackcountry
  9. James Milner regularly creates clearings in the wood
  10. if we are going to win or even draw against Chelsea, we have to be more clinical in front of goal. We will not get more than 2 or 3 chances and we cannot afford glaring misses - against Wigan, Blackburn, Everton and CSKA - we have created hatfuls of chances and scored only 4 goals against, I would guess 20 good chances. An early goal would be nice too, to get them coming forward.
