Probably 75% likely we finish fifth and probably 75% likely fifth place will be a CL place. Getting CL is all that matters, out final position of fourth or fifth isn't really important.
I’d say we’ve got a better chance of finishing 4/5 than 75%.., especially of Manure lose tomorrow.

This is the key, we picked up a point and were 4th. We need to battle hard the next few weeks but we could come out of this weekend 1 point better than Utd. I also don't think Forest is an easy game for Spurs tomorrow.
If Man U and Spurs lose or draw tomorrow then it’s another weekend navigated. I’m hopeful that both of these will happen.

If we’d have won today we’d be no more certain where we are going to finish… hopefully we can put together a performance across two legs v Lille as it’s doubly important now.

Dougie can go all out in these two games as he has no premier league to worry about.
-
If we get 2 wins and a draw from our remaining fixtures and Man U lose tomorrow.. they’d need to win all of their remaining 7 games to catch us.

Need to get a win v Bournemouth and Chelsea now at home now.
Hopefully a draw v Brighton and a win v Palace away

I'm worried we might finish 10th guys, nobody is talking about Chelsea who are only 17 points behind us with three games in hand.
Who are there 3 games in hand against? Spurs one of them?

No. That's just mental.
Yet Man U who are 12 points behind with a worse goal difference are in the conversation?

Nobody here have been talking about Newcastle. They’re only 13 points behind and have a favourable run in.

Man U need 13 points from 8 games. That’s assuming that we pick no more points up.
Spurs will lose a few games that they shouldn’t. That’s the Spurs way..
Until it’s mathematically confirmed that CL is 5th.. and Man U can’t catch us… I’ll be nervous.

Old Villa would’ve lost that… there’ll be a few more twists and turns before the season ends… it would be nice to put media wankfest over Manure to bed…
Spurs may yet still do a Spurs

Like any long campaign, the resources in the beginning are almost never the same resources at the end.
Especially given the injuries we’ve had this year, I doubt Unai would have thought he would be without Mings, Buendia, and Kamara at this point in the season. JJ has played the full 90 only 7 times.Part of being a leader is having that situational awareness and Unai’s own comments, while on the humble side, has been reflective of that. He never once thought about being this squad being a title challenger. He consistently stated the danger of Chelsea, United, and Newcastle overtaking us. He didn’t want to talk about UCL until match week 33-34.
And yet he’s motivated this team far enough where UCL is far more likely than not and we’re in the quarters for conference league.
There are no style points to win and nothing left to prove. Win enough matches for 4th/5th, win the conference league and get these players to the summer for a much needed rest. Was Ming’s injury the reason we went for Torres? I forget now

Can’t agree that Spurs are playing better than us. Yes they are better on the eye but underneath that they have been worse than us. They are what I call a ‘highlights clip team’ where if you only see the highlights you go “wow” but you look under the bonnet over 90 minutes and there are some serious flaws and they certainly have no Plan B if Plan A isn’t working. Why people thinking we are a lot worse is our stinker of a game against them, which it was but doesn’t negate the rest of it.
xG is the worse stat in recent times to raise its head, as somebody said if Duran had headed Konsa’s cross instead of it going straight in the xG on that would’ve been huge compared to xG Konsa actually got and Wolves xG is primarily for Ait-Nouri’s chance. That all doesn’t mean Wolves were better than us, I thought it was fairly comfortable for us overall.
Spurs were 5th at this stage last year and dropped 19 points from April onwards, finishing 8th… I’d be surprised if Spurs didn’t do Spurs things again this year…

Not fearing this game as I was a few weeks back as we have a few players back now although still missing our skipper Norguaard and all our back 4 Rico Mee Pinnock and Hickey as we have for most of the season.Toney could miss out as he is carrying an injury and we have Sheffield and Luton games coming up which we need to win to stay in this boring predictable league for another season.Could have Mbeumo Wissa and Schade available to start who served us well when Toney was out.Think we will give you a tough game as we normally do except for the hammering 2 years ago.Always enjoy Villa park one of the few remaining iconic stadiums with a great atmosphere which we will not contribute as much as usual due to our clubs stupid decision to only request 1500 tickets bazaar as we have sold out last 2 years
Glad to hear that thug Mee isn’t playing.
