Which out of CL or PL would Arsenal most want? If their game against Brian is close would they rest players for our game? Or go full tilt in both?
-
Does anyone have a link to a score predictor so I can have a go at soothsaying?

At the risk of jinxing myself, there’s no way Man U manages to catch us and take 5th. We will get something off of Bournemouth, Chelsea, Brighton and CP.
Until it’s mathematically guaranteed, I’m nervous. They’ll need 4 wins from their last 7 to get to 61 points.. that’s assuming we don’t pick up another point… I’d be surprised if we didn’t get 1 point in the last 6 games… that’ll be an epic implosion.

In terms of UEFA coefficient is it worked out on a by game basis, or as a result of the tie? I’m guessing if German sides get knocked out and English teams go through then England can still add to the total but Germany can’t? Is that how it works?

Don’t have to explain it to me.
I’m just pointing out the hypocrisy of suggesting people go and get some fresh air instead of watching a match that directly impacts the club’s position but then proceeds to pass their time by whining about a result from months ago.
Yes sorry, I was trying to reply to the original post but failed…

Didn’t fancy the fresh air then.
Perhaps losing key players to injury and suspension would explain our dip in form?

We’d need to be more than 6 points clear of Spurs before they play their last two games (Burnley and Sheffield). That’s unlikely.

Isn’t it about time for Arsenal to implode?

Arsenal v Bayern could be very important for us

Goal difference could blow out here too

Game over.. onto next week.

Spurs do look suspect at the back. I can see any one of Chelsea, Newcastle, Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool exposing them

The term "good feet for a big man" is used so much I'm wondering if big men generally have better footwork. Maybe it should be "good feet for a little man".
Crouch always had good close ball skills…

Spurs defence poor.. they’ve got Newcastle, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City to play… their 4th place isn’t certain by any stretch

United should win most of their remaining games - Bournemouth A, Sheffield United H, Burnley H, Palace A are their next 4. Arsenal H and Brighton A are the last 2, with a rearranged home game with Newcastle still to be scheduled.
They should be getting at least 3 wins from the next 4.
We should beat Bournemouth H Crystal Palace A. I doubt Man U will turn over Brighton at the Amex

Man U are just as likely to get beaten by Shef U or Burnley

What? No it wasn't. Can't believe that got 2 likes if I'm honest, 60 points probably hasn't been enough for 5th in this league for the last 20 years or so.
- 22-23: Liverpool 5th (67 points)
- 21-22: Arsenal 5th (69 points)
- 20-21: Leicester 5th (66 points)
- 19-20: Leicester 5th (62 points)
Correction: 2 out of the last 4.
21/22 Man got 58 points in 6th..
19/20 Spurs got 59 points in 6th
Getting 60 points in either of these two seasons would’ve netted you 5th…

I think people are selling United a bit short. It’s not impossible for them to beat Liverpool today. I think they would catch us as they still have Burnley and sheff United at home
I’m not counting them out until it’s mathematically impossible for them to catch us.

The way I see it, Man Utd are 12 behind and have a much worse goal difference. Even if we only won 1 more game, Man Utd would need to win 5 of their remaining 8 games to be level with us, and then either have the goal difference swing in their favour or pick up another point or win from one of the other 3 games. It’s a huge ask for them, and again that’s on the basis we only win one of our remaining games.
Christ if they lose to Liverpool tomorrow, they would need to make up 12/13 points from us in 7 games - we would have to go the rest of the season without gaining a point for that to happen I think. Even today, when we did our very best to lose, we still managed a draw. All those saying this Villa team throw away leads, they ignore the number of times we have come back this season to draw or win.
In terms of Spurs, both we and they seem to be doing our very best to let the other have 4th. If we were to pick up 3 more wins (not impossible/unlikely), they would need to win 4 of their remaining 8 games, which I think is achievable for them, although I certainly don’t think it’s easy given their fixtures.
It will probably go down to the wire between us and Spurs for 4th/5th.
If the lose tomorrow they’ve then got Newcastle and Arsenal at home plus Brighton away as 3 of their remaining 7 games.. m the most pessimistic person out there but it seems unlikely that they’ll even get to 60 points

Well if we're doing that, Chelsea are four points behind Newcastle with two games in hand.
I haven’t ruled Chelsea out
