I thought that but on the other hand, what was he going to wear?
(One of those floppy head dinosaur things would be good)
Did he need to train today if he was leaving us?

Some Spuds fan on Twitter saying there's a lot of cameras outside of Villa Park.
Anyone heading to the Club Shop today?
Can anyone confirm?

Why did he attend a very public, pointless training session if he’s going?
-
One thing I don’t understand is why would he be asked to do what is essentially a pointless training session if he was nailed on to leave?

Under MoN we finished 6th, 3 years in a row, whilst simultaneously paying the 6th highest wages in the league. If we’re looking up the table we have to pick up the salaries of the players that will get us there.
It’s a pity that we don’t have someone at the club who know their way around FFP

His wages are probably covered by the difference in prize money frim league placing without him. I'm sure the sponsorships and general accelerated growth of the club with him will take a big chunk of the £100m too
I stated earlier that I teach in NZ and I’ve got loads of kids who have supported Villa just because of Grealish and the Euros.. he’s become a national sensation.. not sure what that translates to in pound value but it’d be a PR nightmare to lose him now

It's a day ago so hopefully bullshit?

And is this one of those?

I’m probably clutching at straws but I’m surprised, like others, that he’s training in a public please if it’s a done deal that he’s leaving. He would be able to train on his own (if he had to at all) or even head to Manchester for his reported medical that is scheduled for a few days

Always believed a real Villa fan would put the club in front of their own ambitions, as playing for the club was the achievement.
Ive followed the club since the mid 70’s, people have changed, the game has changed. You have clubs like Man City, Chelsea that have no heart, no soul, but they win trophies.
It would be one thing if we were struggling and had no ambition, but we aren’t in that mindset. I have no doubt in my mind that we will have European football within 2-3 years and making another cup final to have the chance of winning a trophy. But will it be enough for a Villa fan? It should be, to be the first captain to hold aloft a cup final trophy in over 25 + years, it will be worth far more, than 3-4 bought trophies at Man City.
Jack can buy into the media’s narrative of needing to be at a big club or being a club legend and be talked about for the next 100 years and probably be more important than any Villa player in history. Easy answer for me, but I’m not Jack.
For me, this is a perfect opportunity for two things:
1. For Jack to display that he does buy into the vision of the owners and
2. For the owners to display that they mean business with said vision

The problem is a lot of fans, especially the younger generation, don’t care about a players history and fans of Man City are like goldfish, they quickly forget what they had and are focussed on the new toy.
I wonder what Jack would rather have.. a few bought plastic trophies or legendary status at his boyhood club.. I guess we’ll soon find out?

With two premier league medals for a fairly limited player?
But will he be remembered by any of his clubs? Will he be immortalised as an Everton great? Or a Leeds great or even a City legend?

Has this situation ever come up before? Where a boyhood fan/player/captain been tempted away from his club just at the point where the club is on the rise? I can’t think of another player?
-
Hopefully Jack looks at Delph’s saga and how well that worked out?

Any ideas when we’ll get some sort of answer one way or another?
