  1. ....damn, just realised that doesn't include Barclay...avfc site not up to date as ever!
  2. With Jota going I count a first team squad of 26 (discounting Ramsey as under-21). That's including registering all five keepers (which would seem OTT) as well as Wesley who is unlikely to play before Jan. So take out Wesley (until Jan) and either Nyland or Kalinic and deffo now one place available...
  3. oh the thought of half the population of Tanzania walking around wearing Tesco bags....what a sight!
  4. hmmm, 18/8 update...and tomorrow is 18/9...so 18/8 was "it will be at least a month before he's ITSOTP"??????
  5. That was 45 minutes ago....define soon as my toast has just burnt... How soon is now? Please, please, let me get what I want this time...
  6. Hope you've hit the bullseye with that one. 301....let's play darts...and time to move on from fish to darting puns! (well I'm not waiting for 501 to come round). ....damn post slipped to page 302
  7. Pollock ?? apparently Jacks-on that team
  8. Are the barbels made of Bass? Probably a red herring otherwise!
  9. Source please to stop my refresh key RSI
  10. The banana dance is nothing compared to the Rashica Opera!
  11. Guilbert can play either flank...was hoping to see him there last night
  12. I remember being in Manchester (yuk) one evening and a load of Lyon fans rolled into the pub prior to a champions league game with manure. I got talking to them and they laughed their socks off when I started praising Carew. They genuinely thought he was useless and Baros the better player... ...my point is that sometimes we as fans see what we want to see - there is always a scapegoat. Remember Lyon finished 7th last season which for them (a team considering themselves a French superpower) was their lowest league position since 1996. Very easy to focus angst at one man, particularly if he is being played out of position as a wing back as some have suggested. The first figure quoted (£25m) was obscene and I'd have been disappointed if we'd paid that, but the figure now is well within the realms of a standard premier league fee. We certainly lacked that next gear of pace as both El Ghazi and Trezeguet struggled to routinely beat full backs. Let's get behind him...
  13. Have a look at this (yes I know it’s tbr and wouldn’t be reliable if it was speculation)...found the positive comments from Chelski fans interesting nonetheless https://tbrfootball.com/chelsea-supporters-react-as-aston-villa-reportedly-close-in-on-bertrand-traore/

  15. We’ll be absolutely f**ked when African nations starts again!!!!
  16. ...and another source (Simon Jones at the Daily Mail)...by the end of the weekend...that's tomorrow right https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8725779/Emiliano-Martinez-closes-19-5m-Aston-Villa-Brighton-plot-late-swoop.html ignore the name of the article...towards the end it states: "Villa will now look to add Werder Bremen winger Milot Rashica in a deal worth around £18million. The 24-year-old Kosovo international is expected to agree terms over the weekend to give Villa an extra cutting edge. Rashica scored 11 goals in 34 games last season. Manager Dean Smith remains keen to add another striker too with Bournemouth's Josh King and Liverpool's Rhian Brewster among names discussed."
  17. indeed £25m for plastic bertrand...ca NE plane PAS pour moi
  18. Didn’t know Ben Mee had joined the bin dippers
  19. This posted 3 hours ago by foreign journo...now “advanced talks” and “five year deal”
  20. of course it would have helped if I'd posted it in the Rashica thread. Too much news today :-)))))
  21. We’ll even throw in hogan and Kalinic if you let him sign today
  22. I believe they were signed though and played quite a bit for the reserves. Gustavo Bartelt was just on trial - saw him play in a friendly away at Bromsgrove Rovers and to he looked absolute gash! Therefore my vote is to say he would be the 3rd Argentinian
  23. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8719645/Aston-Villa-join-race-sign-Northamptons-teenage-striker-Caleb-Chukwuemeka.html Sign all the chukwuemekas!!!!!
