  1. I'm never with that. If you were living in 1930's would you be like yeah let's persecute Jews as everything Hitler's said so far has been right! Sorry guys but I'm of the school that says question EVERYTHING, a free mind is a curious one. Also if what your questioning is a Mirror gossip column article then....
  2. We should be dropping Kane for DCL and putting Jack left and Saka right. Playing those two wide will force the Germans to double up which will pin back their wingback and draw out their left and right cbs, leaving DCL up against Hummels. That would be a total mismatch. A slow, weak in the air cb against a quick powerful aerially dominant striker in DCL. Then he can do his Rice, Phillips, and Mount midfield trio. That's the team to beat Germany!
  3. Tammy is on 82k per week apparently, he would probably be looking for a pay rise too. Tammy is only a good deal for a team in desperate need for a goalscorer.
  4. It's a little different. JWP plays for a selling club. Jack does not. JWP is a Portsmouth fan, not a fan of his club. Sure he has affection for Southampton, but it's not the same as Jack. We can afford him, the only issue with cost is how it affects the rest of any planned recruitment. He plays in a position we have a need for and has set piece quality we really need. Granted the links are very tenuous, and i am sceptical. I don’t believe we have made any serious moves. He is just a player I'd really like us to sign, who if we made him a top priority I believe we could get in.
  5. It will never clear up until the window closes or Jack signs a new contract. Even if the club made a public statement it would still be the same. Jack is world class, playing for a team outside of European competition, so everyone wants to sell him apart from Villa fans. The world we live in doesn't value loyalty over money, or so called success (which is usually measured in coin), so Jack shouldn't be at Villa. All the club can do is assure the players we want to sign. And encourage them to ignore the paper talk.
  6. Loads of options, I'm waiting for something to come from left field that no one is expecting. The Alvarez thing is very left field so I think it may have legs. But It could just be agents trying to get Ajax to pay more for him. Ward Prowse is who I have my heart set on.
  7. Grealish isn't going anywhere, it's business as usual. Man City need a striker, that will cost. So they can't afford him. So where will he go? Man U are buying Sancho (finally), Chelsea have loads of creative players and probably need to sell to buy, they have also been chasing Rice for good knows how long. This Grealish to anywhere is just fan and paper talk simply because he is so good and isn't at a chumps league team.
  8. Kane played the last season as a cross between a false nine and penalty box striker. Prior to last season he was used as a cross between a poacher and a target man. Kane for me can only be used as a false nine type if you don't play with a creative 10, and surround him with pace. What I mean by creative 10 is a player like Jack. If the 10 is a hardworking player, that drops back into central midfield a lot, or is a quick player whose job is to run into Kane's position when Kane drops off. On a side note. Southgate has been trying to build England around Kane, this is why Jack is an issue. If you use him on the left then the best guys to play the Son role are Rashford and Sterling. If you play Jack at 10 Kane ends up getting in Jack's way every time Kane comes deep. That's why Rashford, Sterling, and Mount are preferred to Jack. When Mount plays 10 he comes very deep and England effectively plays as a midfield 3 or a 6 and 2 8's. Because he is pressing hard and tracking back a lot he often finds himself deep, and dropping deep also help play out from the back as Mount is far more gifted in possession than Phillips and Rice.
  9. I call his type inside forward. They prefer playing wide, with few defensive responsibilities, looking to either cut inside and run directly at defenses, or move into that inside channel between fullback and centre and look to get in behind the defense. Basically working the channel and getting in behind is what they look to do when counter attacking. Running directly at defenders is what they do when in the opposition half and they have men behind the ball. Liverpool Play with one inside forward either side of Firmino who likes to drop off almost like a false nine. This creates more.space for those pacy inside forwards to attack. With Ollie we go the opposite way. We have him working both channels. Constantly looking to get in behind when in possession, and pressing relentlessly when out of possession. Then we have Jack and Traore wide as ball carriers when counter attacking, to bring the ball out of defense, and to run and player and work openings. Then we looked to get Barkley to support through the middle by provide extra support to Ollie as a late runner through the middle, and to support Jack and Traore to provide a more creative link up through the middle.
  10. Your words were world class striker. Rashford isn't one yet at least and he plays left wing. Jota isn't and is more of a winger. Son is more of a winger, but I'll got with that, DCL good striker (not world class), Richarlison is also more of a winger. certainly isn't world class. Certainly none of those top 6 teams have two world class centre forwards. For me the only truly world class STRIKER in the league is Kane. Son, Salah and Mane are also World class but they all play off the wing not down the middle. For me Kane is world class only because he is such a good finisher (left foot, right foot, head, inside the box, outside the box doesn't matter), however I wouldn't sign him over the likes of Mbappe, Ronaldo, or even Haaland. Tammy isn't as good as any of the players you mentioned and Ollie is up there with DCL, Richarlison and Jota. Ollie for me is a centre forward, he is just so much better played through the middle as the furthest man forward. Tammy can only play through the centre as the furthest man forward, you can't get the best out of them if they're on the pitch at the same time. And neither man will hang around to be the others back up. You can't just buy load of quality players without a clear and concise plan of how to use them and ensure they are happy and not a strain on the team spirit. If Tammy is happy playing second fiddle, and costs under 25 million then cool get him in. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case.
  11. Not so sure about that, Antonio is a real handful, quick, powerful, decent touch, hard worker, great in the air, solid finisher. Problem is he is injured half the time. Tammy would be guaranteed games because of Antonio's fitness issues, but Antonio is every bit as good as Tammy.
  12. There isn't one team in the Premier league with more one world class striker. There is Kane at Spurs, past his best Cavani at Man U, Salah at Liverpool (I see Mane more as a winger), and that's it now Aguero has left citeh. Tammy certainly isn't world class. Just in case you haven't read my earlier posts I stated the Tammy would be leaving for first team football, not to play back up. He could do that on 80k per week at Chelsea. If you don't have a world class striker the aim has to be to find one if you want to be the best.
  13. Tammy will always get goals, but for me he's like Darren Bent. He always gets into goalscoring positions and is a good enough finisher to find the back of the net. But he also misses a fair amount of chances and not as clinical as the best goalscorers, and also doesn't do a lot for the team outside the Box. I actually think that is a good striker, but Ollie does all that and harasses the crap out of defenses, holds it up well for someone his size and links up well. It's not about not thinking much of Tammy, but thinking a lot of Ollie Watkins.
  14. Spot on that is my opinion (that Ollie is better than Tammy), it's also a very popular opinion that most on here would agree with. Tammy the season before last had 15 goals and 3 assists for a Chelsea team that finished in the top four. Watkins had 14 goals and 9 assists in think further 11th placed team. I know whats is a more impressive feat. You are absolutely right we can spend our money far more wisely than 40 million on Tammy Abraham. I don't believe they can play together, Tammy is very greedy and Watkins would have to be the one making the sacrifices in such a partnership. I can't see how it can work unless you play Ollie wide, and waste his talents. Once again, my opinion. But I like to think an educated one
  15. Are you really going down this road? You are making an assumption with absolutely nothing to back it up. There isn't any kind of observation you can you use to back this up. If Watkins was a Chelsea he would have worked harder than anyone else in training and eventually established himself as their number one striker. As he is better than Tammy and better suited to the premier league than Werner.
  16. And now after a season of watching Tammy and a season of watching Ollie I can say with confidence Ollie is a better striker. I can also say that Ollie isn't a great dribbler and his best assets are his workrate, movement, finishing, and tenacity. All perfect for his current pressing forward role. People's love for Tammy and the role he played in our promotion is clouding people's judgement.
  17. Not a good solution. Watkins is so much better as a striker than a winger. Ollie is a good hardworking winger at championship level, totally unproven as a winger in the Premier league. His one on one take on's simply aren't on the level of quality Premier league winger. If we played him wide we'd have to use him like Trezguet. To run hard, protect the fullback, link up and chip in with goals from the back post. With Tammy and Jack in your front 4 the press will be leaky. Plus the biggest thing you're missing here is Ollie is a better striker than Tammy so why should he be shoved out wide for an inferior striker. Really we should buy a quality winger, put them on the wing and leave Ollie where he is!
  18. My point is this Alvarez kid for example is a far better fit than Tammy. A player just as comfortable upfront As on the wing. And he comes in at 25mill cheaper and quite probably a higher talent ceiling. We don't need Tammy, he clearly isn't as good as Ollie, so he isn't competition, he would just be a decent back up goalscorer. Wesley would actually contribute more to the team, even though he won't get as many goals. Tammy simply doesn't add much.
  19. Integrating Tammy into the first requires dropping Watkins and relaxing the press. So not really practical, especially as Ollie is better than Tammy. Having him as Competition for Ollie means Tammy sitting on the bench alot, which considering he would be leaving Chelsea for first team football won't go down well with him. So not practical for Tammy. We would have to move on Wesley as he definitely won't be happy if Tammy does come in. So finding him a buyer, a player that hasn't been fully fit for 18 months, with questions over whether he can make it in a top league, means a massive loss. Not practical. Also Wesley would actually make a good partner for Ollie. As he also press quite well and likes to drop off and link up with midfield. He is also good with his back to goal so long as the ball is kept on the deck. So he would actually be a better option off the bench than Tammy. So there you have it Tammy! Tammy to Villa simply isn't practical, so won't happen!
  20. Doesn't matter who you sign unless we get a Viera, and Pirlo with legs to find their runs with pinpoint precision. Also if Jack is in behind those two then you need a kante and speedy energetic left back that can cross and beat a man as well as tackle hard. Then even that team will struggle to break down an opponent that drops deep and defends in numbers and doubles up of Jack. Easily cancelled out. Bissouma is very good, he may even be the new Kante, but he wouldn't be enough. Maybe if we could get De-Bruyne to join Jack in a box 4 in midfield, then a sitting DM alongside Bissouma and then a raiding left back like Ashley Cole.
  21. Midfield gets completely overrun and the strikers hardly ever see the ball. I don’t think Tammy is the right forward to play with Watkins. They would both want to run behind and neither one are cut out to drop off. They would both be looking to run in behind leaving massive gaps between Midfield and attack. Normally with a front 2 one is a 10 type striker or a target man and the other is a quick, running in behind and into the channels. Wesley and Watkins would be a better partnership.
  22. Mirror rubbish. All these tabloids do is make stuff up.
  23. This was originally 'reported' in the sun. This is just a rehash. It's bollocks! If it is true then the catch is probably a huge transfer fee.
  24. Sounds fairly reasonable. Would prefer big money ready for a DM but hey.
