  1. Good post. McLeish aint a bad manager. I wouldnt be against giving him a crack at it. We could do worse tbh As time goes by I'm starting to agree also. I spent 48 hours in a nightmare at the prospect, but the more I think about, the less it feels like bringing in Eck would be in fact the end of the world. I mean if we finish in the top 7 with Eck and Blues stay in the championship, I'd be a very happy man. Be a big **** you to Blues too. No amount of time excuses the fact that AM record in the premiership is not as good as Hughes. Yet your warming to AM as our next manager. Based on what, a good sleep. Macleish is a good manager, but not for us. Macleish smacks of a manager to settle the ship, and were not quite there yet. We need to have have another stab at the to p 4 ,5 whatever it is. Young up and coming, go getter manager, thats what we need. If it turns pear shaped then sack him quick and get yer Macleish in, but lets have a bit of a radical mongrel in..............for a bit.
  2. too right the deserting lepricorn!!! Agree with this. Happy days PS Mon your a treacherous little .................
  3. Shame were not a rich club, as I'd bang downing in the reserves and run his contract down, the same with young.
  4. Stand by me.....................................F...n hell
  5. Ireland doesn't deserve a career in football. It's shameful that a bloke like this can earn so much for doing so little. Should be sued under the trades description act.
  6. Bring me sunshine on matchday Let the Villa win every game In this ground that we love There should be more happiness Let us beat every team another 3 points tomorrow You've made me happy through the years Always brought me many tears Let your skills be as good as the God from up above Bring me sunshine, bring me goals, bring me love.
  7. Away from the Darren Bent Theme To the tune of if you happy and you Know it If your a villan and you know it clap your hands A Villan and you know it clap your hands A Villan and you know it Not some bluenose scum then show it A Villan and you know it clap your hands.
  8. Got to be The Bells are Ringing. More rousing than Stand by me and Ghostriders. Like someone said earlier who wants a cowboy song, Yippe I oh doesn't do it for me, and stand by me is to slow. If not The Bells then prefer an adapted song by Steve Winwood who lived in Brum or Roy Wood, Ozzy Osborne, Moody blues, all have a connection to Birmingham. This is my choice, it's all about the Villa, the colours and the ground. Plus every one stands for the one verse. Not singing about the scum and anybody else, or beating someone up. A song that no one can nick or change for themselves ie You'll never walk alone. Get the whole ground singing this and it would be spine tingling. Yippe I ay yippe I oh is not spine tingling either is Stand by me. THEeeeeeeeeeeeee........... BELLS ARE RINGING FOR CLARET AND BLUE EVERYBODY START SINGING FOR THE CLARET AND BLUE EVERY VILLAN IS KNOWING TO VILLA PARK WERE GOING ASTON VILLA ARE SHOWING WERE THE BEST IN THE LAND. EVERYBODY UP STANDING FOR THE CLARET AND BLUE THE BELLS ARE RINGING FOR THE CLARET AND BLUE EVERY VILLAN IS KNOWING TO VILLA PARK WHERE GOING THE VILLA LIONS ARE SHOWING WERE THE BEST IN THE LAND. ps The long Theeeeeeeeeee lets everyone know to join in.
  9. Would be inclined to make him earn his keep. There is a good player in there, may need some manipulating but would invest some time and a bit of hard love and we may have a player.
  10. Darren sent it to his left Darren sent it to his right He Bent it round the post His F....... dynamite
  11. EVERYBODY UP STANDING FOR THE CLARET AND BLUE THE BELLS ARE RINGING.............REPEAT.
  12. Just hope there's no 3 year plan.......................... Up the Villa
  13. Capello doesn't think he's shit... Kevin MacDonald doesn't think he's shit... Our new manager, to be announced tomorrow according to "Sky sources", doesn't think he's shit... Well Capello's not much cop MacDonald is being polite & Houllier wants a job Got to be seen saying the right thing. Anyway regardless of what they think, I've seen him play and I think his shit. I think most of us know what we see.
  14. Even I am not saying that!! Well were not I agree were not. We've always been on the fringe. Our time to take the leap was in 82 winning the European Cup that was the stepping stone to put us back where we belonged, but Ellis came back and that was that. We all know where we should be, but we just keep falling short. The anticipation of supporting this club kills you, but that's probably why it's so addictive. We've always been big, just havn't been able to prove it in modern day football. Being optimistic is a proffesion of supporting Villa.
  15. Seems McLeish has had a falling out with the Scum over pay.
  16. How much has he cost us. Might as well keep him
  17. Out of interest, how is Curbishley not good enough but Mac is? I suppose Curbishley is a known quantity, we've seen his limits. MacDonald is an unknown quantity, he might be crap, but he might be brilliant.
  18. Again, I'd love to know why we have suddenly become so unambitious. No rush ?? - why not ? Not relegation material - is that the limit of our ambition at the moment ? We can't afford this mentality - we need to be desparately trying to move on, not suddenly accepting 'transition years' and 'no rush'. Whats got into everybody ?? :? Unambitious your opinion. I never thought we would win the league or European cup with Saunders but we did. Im very ambitious when it comes to Villa, but lets be fair we have been treading water for a long time. No one knows what the next manager will bring whoever it is, but I would rather let someone like MacDonald have his chance. He may end up the best manager we've ever had. As for bringing in a manager who will attract top players, well we just don't have top players money, so we have to do things a bit differently.
  19. No to Koeman, would prefer MacDonald. Fresh blood needs injecting into the PL, it's stagnant with the same old names and has beens. Koeman has his name and that's all his got. Would rather give KM some time, there's no rush we are not relegation material. He might suprise he might bomb, but worth a gamble. If he is good we may have a manager who might just be with us for some time, we need some stability and consistancy. All the Koemans and Eriksons never last they just move on. Kevin MacDonald please Randy, 6 month trial see how he goes.
  20. Would be fair to let Kevin MacDonald have some time in the job (if he wants it) All this talk of a new manage,r and he has'nt managed his first game yet. He might suprise us, and if he does good, may show some loyalty to the club. Fergie went from Aberdeen to Man U Moyes from Preston to Everton. You never know we may unearth a gem in MacDonald, his calling so to speak. We have the same squad that got to 6th last year were not going to collapse and be relegation fodder. He may be the next Shankly, Fergie who knows, but if we don't give him a chance we'll never know. Worth a punt I think.
  21. Im sure I've read somewhere that Randy will get someone in within the next 10 days. A bold statement if true, considering most managers mentioned are at clubs already. Unless he has someone he knows and has been in regular contact with who he can speak freely with. without up setting anybody. ie Bob Bradley
