Giving the ball to Hutton essentially spells the imminent end of an attack, whether it's through a cross that doesn't beat the first man, a cross that sprays over everybody's heads, a misplaced pass into the middle of nowhere, a pass that goes straight to an opposition player or a mazy run directly into a defender. I can't see how he deserves credit for trying when the things he tries constantly go wrong. It would be better for the team, at least in terms of retaining possession, if he didn't try.
