Haven't felt this confident about the defense is a long time - Chester and Baker are a really solid pairing, and Bunn has been uncharacteristically commanding - but going forward we still can't make anything stick. The entire midfield needs purging.

Oh don't get me wrong, I don't like seeing the words "Westwood" and "Quality" together, unless they're accompanied by the word "questionable." But Westwood is a better player than Gardner, full stop. Neither are good enough; on that I'm sure we can agree.

I don't get this. Westwood can't tackle, but Gardner can't tackle OR pass. Westwood gets a lot of stick for prizing possession over attacking play, but at least he does retain possession rather than giving the ball away near constantly.

I assumed that with his pace gone, the plan was that Gabby would concentrate on using his strength to provide decent holdup play. Turns out he can't do that any more either.

True, and early on Gresford seemed to be having some joy running at their defence. But that doesn't account for Jedinak giving the ball away with aimless passes so much, or Ayew and Kodjia dwelling on the ball rather than making simple passes. There have been too many sloppy, lazy performances in this match; not managing a single shot on target in 75 minutes of football is really very bad.

It's not like Norwich have played brilliantly to score, although the goal was well taken. For some reason we've struggled to make anything stick, we can barely seem to string two passes together and we'e given up possession under almost no pressure whatsoever. This is simply not good enough at this level.

Right now I wouldn't mind if we were doing some shit shooting; at least we'd be having some shots. Rubbish.
