Sure it was Van Gaal that played him there first. Young on the left Valencia on the right. And then Conte also at Inter.
If those top managers are doing it, they must be on to something surely?

Don’t worry mate, he’ll be started on the wing against Bournemouth
I hope so but I don’t want to build my hopes up too much!

Approaching? He's bloody ancient
I still have great memories of him sprinting past opposing full backs and sending crosses in to the box for our strikers. His legs might stop him from doing that now, it makes me sad but that’s life I suppose

A few weeks before we signed him the papers had him down as an ideal striker for a Champions League team. We are in for big things this year from Ings I hope.
We don’t want to put too pressure on his shoulders, it is a team game after all

In my opinion, some of these comments are unfair on McGinn, I think it has been forgotten that we only paid £3m for him, I think if the worst happens and if we were to sell him, we’d get a lot more than £3m for him. Not that I’d want us to sell him, he set the standard for us initially in The Championship, it was funny watching Jack Grealish and McGinn in that league, that goal against Sheffield Wednesday was outstanding. In our first season back in The Premier League, he was outstanding but I think his performance levels dropped off a bit last season, it is understandable, players can’t produce 8 or 9 out of 10 performances every week, it is nigh on impossible

Great cross for Carlos yesterday, that’s where I want to see Ashley Young, he’s not a full back. I understand that in football terms, he is approaching the veteran stage but it’s nice to know he’s still got that ability to cross a ball effectively. For me, he’s not and never has been a full back, I think and I stress think it was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer put him there. I understand that Young might not have the legs anymore to beat an opposing full back for pace

This means he can’t deal with players with big personalities?
Jack isn’t as good as everyone thought he was and now he has top players around him it has become apparent.
This has nothing to do with Pep.
I am confident that Grealish will show his true quality for Man City this coming season. He hasn’t become a bad player overnight, he carried us almost singlehandedly for a long time. He stayed with us in The Championship for 3 seasons when he could’ve jumped ship. I’ll always be grateful to him, the best player I’ve seen in a Villa shirt, hands down. When he played for us, our only tactic was to pass to Grealish, all of our attacks went through him, it was almost funny at times. He’s still a great player for me

Its Bournmouth, weakest side in the division. We gotta go out there with straight backs and smash it! Give it 100% Beans and its an easy win,
4-0 to the Villa
It won’t be easy, Bournemouth are a newly promoted team, they’ll be at it from the first whistle. We’ll need to match Bournemouth for intensity and effort and hope for the best on the day

He’s just not very physical. Smart player though.
He reads the game so well though, great pick up by Gerrard on a free. Chambers is so underrated

Not doubting his ability I would just like to see both Mings and konsa alongside Carlos also
Well, we have competition for places at centre back now

No one could convince me this isn’t our best 11, question mark over chambers only but he deserves a shot
Why are there question marks over Chambers? He was playing brilliantly towards the end of last season, he was magnificent against Man City away

We gave Cash a contract extension this year too. He's contracted til 2027. There's a reason he was given a new deal.
Yeah, to be back up to Kessler

You genuinely think KKH is better now? Wow. I know you like to be enthusiastic about our players and there potential but come on.....Cash is a Polish international. KKH has had half a decent season in League 1. The Premier League is an entirely different ball game. He may well go on to be a fantastic player but to suggest he's as good as Cash is frankly a bit daft.
In my opinion, Kessler-Hayden is better than Cash going forward and has more end product. Cash is better than Kessler-Hayden defensively. There’s a reason we gave Kessler-Hayden a new 5 year contract recently

Gerrard won’t start him because he’s clueless. Young will play on the left.
Gerrard isn’t clueless at all, he’s been there and done it as a player, he knows what it takes to be a success in football. I am happy that we signed Ludwig Augustinsson as cover for Digne as it means we won’t see Young at left back at all. Young probably hasn’t got the legs anymore to play at left wing sadly, I don’t know- sorry for going off topic

There's not a chance we drop Cash for KKH.
I think it’s a possibility, Kessler-Hayden offers more than Cash going forward. Kessler-Hayden will learn to defend better as he gains more experience. Kessler-Hayden is a terrific prospect, don’t get me wrong, I rate Cash very highly but I think it’s just as simple as Kessler-Hayden is better or will be better. We gave Kessler-Hayden a new 5 year contract about a year ago for a reason in my opinion. It was the longest contract we’ve ever given to an 18 year old. Even Jack Grealish only got a 4 year contract at the same age I think, I could be wrong on that

Played LCB when playing with Kounde but I believe he’s played the rest of his career as RCB
Where do you think he will play for us and who with?

Not enough to make a full judgement and also interesting to see how different he is without Kounde. He looks very good but has mistakes in him but could be a next level up for us. I think he’ll become a fans favourite with his attitude. I don’t think he’s elegant going forward. That’s my thoughts based on the parts I’ve seen him.
Which side does he play? Left centre back or right sided centre back? I know next to nothing about him

Marseille on loan for the season
Arsenal aren’t letting White go just rumblings. I don’t think we would be interested anyway we have the same level of quality in our CB’s, I don’t feel he’s better than them.
Have you seen much of Diego Carlos then?

Tavares is off shortly, I also heard a lot of rumblings about White which I surprised about, he wasn’t as loved as I thought there. They have some great attacking talent though.
Where is Tavares going? If Arsenal are letting White go, he’d be perfect for someone like us. I agree with you again

Arteta let Martinez go because he chose Leno to be his number one so Martinez took his chance to move to us. Something I guess Arteta regretted the following season and thus why they signed Ramsdale.
Of course they two massive clubs but Chelsea are bigger than Arsenal football wise although Chelsea have lost some key players. Arsenal had a good season last season but have struggled since Wenger left but are fighting to try to get back to CL football. Chelsea have been CL for a long time and it was being touted after signing Lukaku they would be in the title race but obviously that didn’t work out but they were still the 3rd best team in the league. There is still a gulf between Chelsea and Arsenal. Chelsea want to fight the top 2, Arsenal want to get into the CL places. Different expectations!
I agree with the first paragraph, Ramsdale is better than Martinez with his feet, Ramsdale suits their style of play.
I agree with the the second paragraph too. Chelsea have spent a lot more than Arsenal over the past few years, Arsenal are trying to play catch up with the signings of Ramsdale and Ben White, Nuno Tavares, to name but a few. I think Arteta will be an excellent manager in time, he’s made a good start

Nah Martinez was really going to be second fiddle at Arsenal hence why Arteta let him go plus Arsenal aren’t the same level as Chelsea and definitely weren’t then.
Arsenal didn’t have Ramsdale when we signed Martinez from them. Leno is still a good keeper and he is number 2 for them now. Arsenal and Chelsea are massive clubs for me, 2 of the biggest in the country

I think we finish 10th this year if we are done in the window with us only changing two primary positions with kamara and carlos, shame as i think we have a real opportunity to push for top 7 if we added a third marquee signing in the centre of midfield
We still have plenty of time left in the window

I still don't think Coutinho is a problem......I think allowing opponents to nullify him , might be.
He is a creator......we have to protect him, but have we got the players to do that?.....we need another top player to partner Kamara.

We must have different expectations of players then. He was outstanding for those first 10 games and I don’t think he has been poor in 120 games since. My point was that he only cost £3m, for me, he has been a bargain but you obviously have a different opinion. I think fans generally have too high expectations of players Zatman, not just you and I
